Religion Warning. This is based on Disney’s Hunchback Of Notre Dame. Specifically, the villain’s song, Hellfire.Third POV:
The fire crackles in the fireplace at the head of the room. Lux stands before his gods’ statues, fearful of his supposed crime. His heart pounds as he collapses to his knees, “Why have you sent this witch to test me? You know I am a righteous man, of my virtue I am justly proud.”
Lux continues his plea, unsure about the feeling that plagues his body. He turns to the flicker of the fire for any comfort, putting a hand to his heart.
“Please tell me, why I see him dancing there, why his beautiful eyes still scorch my soul,” He slowly rises, faced with a figure dancing with the flames, “The sun caught in his raven hair, breaking me from all self-control.” The figure slowly leaves the ash-filled fireplace, approaching the boy.
He backs into a wall, grasping his chest. Eros, either his worst nightmare or his greatest dream, he’ll never know. One thing is for certain, he can’t get Eros out of his head.“A fire, hellfire, this blazing desire, is turning me to sin..” Lux’s voice lowers as the figure pins him to the wall, wrapping its arms around his neck. Inching closer and closer to his face.
He pushes the figure off, “It’s not my fault, I’m not too late,” Lux shouts as he gets distance from it and the wall, “it was this Sin, the one who plays this game!” the boy points at the form, then looks to the statues, “ It’s not my fault! Was this your plan?” The creature sneaks up from behind. Lux relaxes slightly, within its warm embrace. It buries its face to the crook of his neck, wrapping its arms around the boy’s chest. “You’ve made this devil so much stronger, than a woman,” Lux whispers as it lets go, floating around the room, spreading a hot pink smoke around the room.
Lux’s eyes widen, a golden bubble, shields him, “Protect me, please, someone,” The creature bangs on the bubble, using strength and the smoke to trying to rip it apart. “Don’t let this siren cast his spell, don’t let his filth wreck my soul.”
The shield holds, slowly overtaking the smoke, trapping the figure in another bubble. “Ruin Eros, let him taste the fires of hell,” He pulls the bubble close, hugging it, “ Or else let him be mine and mine alone.”
Lux’s voice rings throughout the room, broken yet hopeful, he quiets down, falling back to his knees. “Hellfire, this fire, now Sin it’s your turn. Choose me or your pyre.” Tears fall down his face, “ Lords have mercy, on him.”
“Lords have mercy, on me,” He looks to the statues, crushing the fiery figure in the bubble before shouting, “ Be mine, or you will burn!”
