part 4 - a new encounter

as we were walking around talking about random stuff a shadow-y figure appeared before us.
it was coming closer and henderson decided to stand in front of me and guard me from whatever was in front of us. as it came closer we realized it was just another human.

"uhm hello?" said a somewhat deep voice. it was a man. looking closer, it was a very tall boy about our age. even taller than henderson. he had long black hair that barely went below his jawline and red eyes. he, just like henderson, had dark circles under his eyes. henderson still hasnt moved from his spot. i think he sensed something odd. but why do i feel like i've seen this boy before?

3rd person POV

"what do you want?" asked henderson.
"oh nothing... i'm sorry to disturb you two... but..." said the black haired boy and came closer to the girl, "i think i'm lost..." and smirked.
henderson growled but Y/N only blushed and said nothing.

henderson, still mad at the red eyed boy said angirly "yeah good. get lost."
the clearly taller boy had enough. he furrowed his eyebrows and said "what are you doing with this... cute girl anyway? did he kidnap you?" looking at Y/N.
Y/N only shook her head.
"well it seems like we're all lost! why don't we stick together then? my name is souta by the way."
"souta..." whispered Y/N and looked away deep in thought. henderson was clearly annoyed.

"we don't want you. we're fine on our own thank you." said henderson and grabbed Y/N hand and took her with him in the opposite direction. Souta slowly crept behind them and followed them without Y/N and henderson noticing.

Y/N then said "hey do you really think it was a good idea to leave him there? i mean he's lost like us isn't he? maybe he could've helped us..."
henderson was getting more annoyed. he didn't let it show though.
"didn't you say that you don't wanna leave the forest? that you don't mind being here? besides, we shouldn't just trust random strangers. i don't want anything happening to you."
"oh..." Y/N sighed.

by the time they arrived back at the cabin it was already afternoon. the sun was close to setting and it was getting colder.
"why don't we set up a fireplace?" suggested the grey haired boy and Y/N nodded.

rumble...

Y/N's stomach showed that she was hungry.

henderson POV

ah! Y/N is so cute... the cutest. she's not like any other girl i've ever met. she's kind and genuine. i love her. I LOVE HER. i just wanna kiss her... and hear her scream...

rumble...

her stomach rumbling made me snap out of my daydream. my princess is hungry... ahh...

"do you wanna go out and get something to eat?" i smiled.

"yeah... i still have some food left. but let's eat it outside." she replied... everything about her is perfect. can't believe that guy Souta wanted to take her away from me. she's mine. only mine.

i smiled again. "ok let's go :)"

timeskip

y/n POV

we found an empty field on top of some sort of a hill and watched the sun set as we ate some biscuits. the clouds looked like they were melting in a splash of warm colors. orange. pink. lastly, bright red.

while resting i felt something cold yet gentle touch my hand. i slowly turned and saw that it was henderson's hand. i let it envelop mine in a gentle grip. i felt at peace.
