Twenty minutes after Axel and Samantha teleported from their hotel room; back at Nick's Game Store, Nick was prepping for their arrival. He conjured up some murder weapons and torture devices using a spell book from his mother, Purple Jessamine. He didn't know that his mom was evil and he certainly didn't know that she abandoned him. He was angry that he didn't have the life he wanted. He didn't like the idea that his birthmother threw him away like he was a piece of garbage but that no longer matters because she's dead. She died when a Prince slayed her on Dark Peak 20 years ago but before that, she gave Nick up to a family that only believed that magic was just made up for children-but they were deeply mistaken.
Axel and Samantha ended up on 44th street so they ran over to Nick's Game Store and when they got there, Nick wasn't expecting them so he cuffed both their necks with his hands. When he saw their faces, he let them go and Axel and Samantha fell to the floor. "Nick, what happened to you?" Samantha asked, scared. "I've evolved. Now that I know where I come from, I am going to get my revenge and no one is going to stop me." Nick said. "Where did you come from?" Axel asked. "I said I don't want to talk to you, Axel." Nick said, flipping through his spell book his mother left him. "I know you said that but I'm your friend whether you like it or not." Now tell me, where did you come from?" Axel demanded lightly. "Purple Jessamine. I came from Purple Jessamine." Nick said, now looking at Axel and Samantha and then went back to flipping the pages in his spell book.
The reaction on Samantha's face was shocking; she was in shock and couldn't keep her mouth closed as her jaw dropped. What she saw around her were bear traps, a giant bird cage, trap doors, fire starters, marbles, bricks, lots and lots of string, and a tub of water. "Are you trying to kill her with all of these weapons?" Samantha asked in her bubblegum blueberry jam pajamas with her hands on her hips. "Of course not, what gave you that idea?" Nick asked. "All of these." Samantha said, pointing to all of the torture devices. "My plan was to see her suffer, not to kill her but if you want me to kill her, I will." Nick said. "We don't want you to kill her." Axel said. "What was your plan anyway, to get all of these weapons in her apartment?" "I was hoping Samantha would do the honor of transporting all of these and installing them into her apartment." Nick said and walked around the counter. Axel and Samantha walked closer to Nick. "If I could choke you, I would, but sure-I'll do it." Samantha said. "Absolutely not!" Axel shouted. "Axel, always the one to ruin the fun, I see. Even in the 6th grade 'when you had to call your mom' and I got detention for a week." Nick said. "I'm doing it." Samantha told Axel. "Excellent, now twirl your magic finger and make all of these weapons disappear. Now; come on, before the fusion bomb detonates."
Samantha twirled her right pointing finger twelve times until dark blue shimmering smoke shimmered her whole finger. "Fire, Water, Air, and Earth; make my finger spin for what it's worth. Ice, Darkness, Energy, and Light; make all of these weapons take flight." The murder weapons began floating up in the air. "Lightning, Sound, Force, and Nature; make sure these weapons disappear forever!" The weapons disappeared; but it wasn't forever. Nick looked at Samantha and said, "Now, do it." "This is not a test so make these weapons fly to the west." Nick stared at Samantha and he smiled. "I call these weapons to fly to the west!" A big storm cloud filled the room's ceiling and lightning bolts sprouted to life as they started circling the room as Samantha continued her spell. "Now that the cloud of darkness has filled the room with doom, I magically direct these weapons to Rachel McClaine's apartment room!" Lightning bolts struck the floor and Axel had to jump before he was hit. "Transfer to Rachel McClaine's apartment room!"
Samantha chanted and the storm cloud exploded as dark blue light lit up the whole room and then winds burst through the store, blowing everything all over the place in a cyclone. Samantha was almost finished with the spell. She looked down at her pearl necklace and started pulling strains of magical sparkles and channeling them into the pearl necklace, which was now glowing, and she released the strains of sparkles with a mix of strains of pure magic. Mixing them together made an even powerful force of magic; dark magic. "Ok." Axel said and he walked over to Samantha and stood in front of her. "I didn't think that you would create dark magic?" "Axel, this power isn't mine. It's part of the spell. I can't control this side of me because this isn't my magic." Samantha said. "It must be Purple Jessamine's." Axel assumed. Nick's eyes sparked up because he was excited of what was about to come. A bright flash of light beamed the whole store and miles away of all of Puebla. The dark blue light vanished, and the winds stopped, as Samantha's incantation was complete. The dark blue shimmering smoke faded away too. Papers that were flying, lowered down to the floor and they landed all around the room.
"Nice work, Samantha." Nick said and magically cleaned up the store with one snap. "You're welcome but, what do we do now?" Samantha asked. "Now we see if the spell worked." Nick said. "Gather your things; we're going to Rachel's apartment. One thing before we leave, I need to get my Casio 400 Photographer so I can get a good picture to hang up on my bulletin board." Nick said, walking over to the crystal glass case-which was empty.
Nick got furious and purple blazing flames shot out of his hair and black thorn-like-horns sprouted. "Who stole my Casio 400 Photographer!" Nick shouted in a dark monstrous voice, almost like his mother's. Samantha's eyes popped out of her head when she heard what Nick had shouted. Nick eyed Axel and Samantha until they told him who stole the camera. "We saw that it was Rachel. She came through the door after we left and she stole the camera." Axel said, panicking. Samantha looked at Axel and smiled. "Yes, I believe she has your camera." Samantha said. "It seems that wench couldn't get enough of me so she crawled right back here just to steal my prized possession. She's going to pay." Nick said and stormed into the backroom.
"What are you doing?" Axel asked and then gulped. "I'm going to check the security camera tape to see if what you're saying is true. If it is-then she's dead, if it isn't-you're dead." Nick said and found the tape and placed it in the tv. Samantha grabbed Axel's arm and pulled him away so Nick wouldn't hear what they were talking about. "Axel, this is really bad." Samantha whispered. "I told you not to steal from him and look what's about to happen? He's going to kill us." Axel whispered. "Please, please you have to help me." Samantha pleaded. "I'm sorry but there's nothing we can do now," Axel said, as Nick turned on the tape that was recorded 2 days ago. "Uh oh." Samantha said under her breath.
The tape that Nick was watching was in black and white and he watched it very closely. The film showed a familiar face with dirty blonde hair and blue eyes the shade of the ocean. The culprit was female and about 5-foot 8 inches; the same height as Samantha. Samantha walked to the case where the camera was laying on top of a blue velvet pillow after she ordered another familiar face with dark brown hair with honey blonde highlights and really tan skin. The helper of the culprit was about 5-foot 11 inches; and appeared to be male. He was the same exact height as Axel. Axel was ordered to watch the door as Samantha grabbed the keys off the counter and unlocked the crystal glass case to achieve the camera. After Samantha locked the case, she whispered, "Now, let's get out of here before Nick catches us red-handed!" But before they left, she got out a quarter from her pocket and dropped it into the tip jar. They both ran out without saying goodbye.
Nick formed a malicious smile as he watched the tape in action. He was not only going to get revenge on Rachel but he was going to kill Samantha. A fire grew in him and he snapped. Nick fast forwarded the tape until he stopped it once he saw Samantha and Axel at the door. "Axel and Samantha, I'll get you for this." Was all Nick could say. Nick turned off the tape and walked out of the backroom. "I know you lied to me and I'm not happy about it." Nick said, walking over to Samantha. "I know you took my camera and you only had the generosity of a rat by giving me a quarter for it!" Nick said and slapped Samantha on the face. Axel was going to stop Nick but he waved his hand and Axel froze in purple fire. "Nick, at least I gave you something." Samantha said, backing up, trying to find a weapon. "But you had to be reminded by your friend." Nick said. Samantha grabbed a display holder full of videogames and she wacked Nick but he vanished in purple flames. Samantha looked everywhere-except behind her.
"Boo!" Nick said and Samantha jumped up with her pole for protection. "Nick, don't do this." Samantha said, moving things in her path and Nick tumbled. "I warned you that my camera is my property and you can't have it." Nick said, pushing a cart off of him and getting up. "Fine, if you want your stupid camera so badly, here." Samantha said and poofed it into her hand, tossed it over to Nick, and it shattered on the hard wood floor. Nick looked down at his camera and now that it was gone, he felt hot inside. The fire took over him like his mother was controlling him from beyond the ashes. "Thank you but now I have to kill you!" Nick shouted. "No Nick, it's me who has to kill you!" Axel said and he kicked Nick to the ground and bruised him. "Wait, how did you escape?" Nick asked. "Because your magic is no comparing to my magic. I told you; darkness never wins over light." Axel said. "You chose your path and now I've chosen mine." Nick said. "Please, let us help you." Axel said, trying to lend a hand to Nick. "No way. You said it yourself. Once I turned dark, you won't be my friend." Nick said and vanished in a bonfire of purple flames. Samantha cleaned up the game store with a simple tidying up spell with the Casio 400 Photographer laying on the glass counter and they left to go find Nick.
