After his mother walked out on him when he was just a little boy and his dad having to work double the shifts in order to make ends meet, Kardern found his friendships and family in the pages of a book, a lot of people hadn't really heard him spoke and when he did it was only a sentence or two at a time.

He didn't know how it happened but eventually, he found himself hanging out with Cory Matthews and his friends and even more so he didn't know how he ended up catching feelings for a certain brown-haired boy: Shawn Hunter
