Just take the first letter and read them all to the last. Won't take too much time. This is the story of a girl who was troubled but is now fine with the help of extraordinary people. In the land of Astrayix, magic determines status. The family with the strongest magic holds the title of royalty. Their magic is so strong, that only during the Crowning Trials can their full potential be unlocked. Maya Xinia, next in line to the throne was excited to finally come of age for her Trial. Key term: was. The problem? She's a spoiled rotten brat with little magic who is unfit to rule as she is. So what happens when you send a stuck-up princess to Earth to work her way through college without any magic to protect her from the forces of the man who is trying to bring back to life a creature long believed destroyed? Better yet, what happens when she has more magic than she's let everyone believe? I really suck at descriptions, but give it a try! The story and characters are mine. The creatures are creatures that I've found through online research. I did not create them, such as snotlings. (They were too funny to leave out, lol; Blame the gamer in me.) Please don't steal my story. It's pretty cliche to begin with, I'm sure you could come up with better! Also, cover is a picture of the green tunnel that I found online. Not my picture. Also, if you see errors and such, feel free to point them out. It's a first draft NaNo story, so it will definitely need editing later. Right now I just want to get it done :D

The walk of adulthood has 3 rules. You can't back out. You have to finish. And most importantly of all, you must survive it. Walking into college is much easier when your past isn't kissing you goodbye. All your life has come up to this. Elementary prepares you for middle school. Middle school teaches you something close to the misery of high school. High school is the last acceptable happiness you will ever have. High school was the preview of college. If you eat all your popcorn in the preview, being in the movies won't reach up to the standards. If your popcorn fell, you're done. If you didn't buy the popcorn, you'll be stealing it from your friend. After all, this is FIU. Most of the people here left their lives back wherever their home was. But, the real question is did they leave themselves?

Due to committing the sin of suicide, Kara is sentenced to 100 years of community service, standing as a Grim Reaper, Purgatory's equivalent to soldier. Collectively, they are called the Purge, and they are under the Archangels, Heaven's equivalent to Generals of an army. Here Kara meets Gotham, one of Heaven's Generals gone rogue. Fights and arguments ensues, but Gotham is forced to work with the new recruit to finish his sentence and get back on his rightful place. But something is lurking in the shadows, and it is up to the unusual duo to banish this monstrosity before it's too late. ============================================ Seriously amazing job @BreeRathbone for the book cover! Carson never had a "normal" life, so to speak. He enjoyed things that didn't fit to social standards. His mom supported whatever he wanted to do, and he had even went to therapy to try to work out some of his problems. The only thing that seemed to work for him was finding a daily schedule, but with college just about to begin, it's becoming difficult to stick to his routine.

(Note: there are no sexual, violent, nor vulgar themes or scenes in this story, but Wattpad says it is Mature, I suppose due to the presence of suicidality in some of the book? Rough Draft done 29November, Posting 2nd draft chapter by chapter now...) Update: 18 September, 12017 HE: I don't think I ever did give much backstory for any of my MCs. As for clarifying the setting, I sat down to edit for setting, and realized that my problem with this practice novel is that it was written for one particular person, which is why I had so much trouble making the place definite at the start. I also thought about Marie's entrance: I'd meant to convey that expected noises were identified, and thus less likely to set off panic.

This is my NaNoWriMo 2015 project! Pull up a chair, pour yourself a drink, and get ready to wade through typos, ignore poor grammar, avoid plot holes, and meet unreliable characters! Throughout the month of November, I'll be posting new chapters to this campy Space Opera as they are completed. Unedited and unplotted, this will be a reading nightmare for anyone who ventures in, but you'll get to see the story progress and unfold as I do, which is half the fun. I'd love to read your comments, suggestions, and of course, a little encouragement, especially as November progresses. Keeping up the writing momentum can be tough, so posting to Wattpad will be my motivation to complete the project and win NaNoWriMo!
