I'm watching the store. When I'm sitting here, I have the chance to get an idea of everyone's reading habits.

"This manga is so good!" Gus exclaimed as he placed his comic on the counter.

"Really?" I asked.

Gus: nothing but manga.

"Is this month's issue in?" Willow asked as she held a novel in her hand.

"Yup." I said.

Willow: buys novels from her favorite authors and subscribes to literature magazines. She's a regular patron.

"You accept gift cards, right?" Boscha asked.

"Yes, we do." I said.

Boscha: nonfiction.

"Here." Amity gave the book to me.

Amity: reference books and best sellers.

I was about to check her book out until I gave it a second look. Unbelievable...

This book... It's the one that presents itself as being a romance between a man and a woman, but then two women end up dating in it. And I hear it has some rather...extreme scenes...

I slowly looked up at her as I slightly raised one eyebrow.

She came to our shop specifically when I'm at the register to buy this?!

Amity tilted her head at me and smiled. I was furiously blushing again.

Is she having fun seeing my reaction?

"Is something wrong?" She asked me. I had my head down while checking her book out.

"N-No." I assured her, "Should I put on a cover?" I smiled.

"Please do." Amity smiled.

If I act upset, I'll be playing right into her hands. I just have to be calm...

Later at the student council room...

"Luz, I'm so sorry!!! I'm telling the truth! I just wanted to buy a book from you. I didn't have any ulterior motives! I didn't know what kind of book it was!" Amity continued on apologizing to me.

So she just didn't know...

"Good job, all of you. As I told you before, the midterms are next week, so we'll be suspending our activities until the exams are over." Amity announced.

"Make sure you come back with a result worthy of a council member." Boscha half-smiled.

"Coming from you, it sounds serious. I'm scared." Viney was slightly sweating.

"Exams..." I mumbled to myself.

I was now walking outside, "I'm heading off now."

"Thanks for today." Amity said as I walked off, Jerbo following closely behind.

"Hey, Luz." Jerbo said as we started to walk side by side, "Will you be meeting up with Amity while the student council is on break?" He asked.

I furrowed my eyebrows, "No, I won't."

"What, why?" Jerbo looked over at me.

"I already told you. We're not going out." I whispered.
