Sungchan's POV
"Sungchan! Come here!" I turn towards the voice of Jungwoo. "I just finished packing posters! Wanna help me with a task?"
"Sure!" I respond, happily jumping over to him. I never knew that packing could be so fun. Then again, I'm pretty sure that everything is more fun with NCT.
"Let's do the one with pets!" I suggest as Jungwoo scrubs away at the wall with a giant eraser, trying to remove the line that says "Pack Posters".
"Did I hear pets?" Ten asks from behind us.
"You sure did!" Jungwoo responds enthusiastically.
"Can I come?" Ten asks. We agree and soon all end up at the storage room in the basement.
"So we need to bring some pet carriers up to the front door, along with a box of important papers," I recall, glancing around the full but organized area.
We soon locate the items and carry them upstairs, placing them with a row of suitcases by the door. Yes, each of us has a suitcase, and yes, that's a lot of luggage.
Now I'm in the packing mood. With no hesitation, I follow Jungwoo and Ten up the stairs to find something new to complete.
~Time Skip~
"Oh my goodness, what time even is it?" Haechan asks, plopping down on the couch in between me and Jeno. It hits me that I've barely checked the time all day.
"I don't know, we've been working for quite a while," Jeno replies, mindlessly petting one of the dogs laying next to him.
"You could just check your phone," Mark snorts from the other end of the couch. Haechan rolls his eyes but complies anyways.
"Wow, it's midnight already? Dude... Time actually passed so quickly, I'm shocked," he comments.
"Look, there's like two more tasks on the wall," I point out, staring at almost-clean wall, save for a few streaks and two sentences.
"Not anymore," Taeil corrects, erasing the last two tasks off of the wall with the almost used up eraser.
"We're done!" Mark cheers in excitement. Wow, we really are done. We started out with over 100 tasks, and now they're all gone.
"I heard that you all finished everything!" a female voice congratulates from our left. I turn and see Kayla, walking towards us with a big smile on her face and a Jisung bouncing after her.
"Yep! You heard right!" Taeyong answers just as happily, emerging from the pantry with a bag of chips in his hands.
"Thank you all so much. I seriously don't know how this possibly could have happened without all 23 of you guys," she says.
"Aw, no problem, Kayla, we're just glad you can stay with us," Jaemin smiles.
"And that you're happy!" Chenle adds as we all voice our agreement.
"Alright, let's catch some sleep before the flight," Kayla suggests, clicking the pen in her hands repeatedly.
"Let's?" I question doubtfully.
"Well, you all should catch some sleep before the flight," she corrects herself sheepishly.
"I have a feeling that I can't convince you to actually sleep, so let's just go to bed," Kun sighs, standing up from his seat on the floor.
We really do need some rest after this long day.
~Time Skip~
The sound of an alarm from an unknown phone blares out, jolting me awake. Rubbing my eyes, I groggily survey the room. The sun isn't even up yet! Whoever's alarm that is needs to learn to set it right.
I sigh and fall back onto my pillow, before bouncing right back up again. Right, we have a flight today. We're going back to Korea today. WITH KAYLA!
Knowing that my own exhaustion can't compete with the sleepiness of the girl who probably pulled an all-nighter, I swing my legs over the side of the bed and get into the shower.
By the time I'm dressed, the whole room is awake and moving, some faster than others, but we're making progress.
I leave them in the room and exit to see a couple members lingering in the hallways, conversing with one another. Yes, it may be early morning, but we're all awake with a goal, and nobody's going to slack.
I make my way downstairs and see that there's already an assortment of pastries and drinks set out on the kitchen island table. Kayla must have done this.
Taking a donut from a plate, I go in search of Kayla. Not on the third floor, not on the second floor... I open the door of the office on the first floor to see Kayla, her back facing me as her fingers fly across the keyboard in front of her.
"Good morning, Kayla," I greet her, taking a bite of my donut. Mm, it's good. Perfect amount of sugar to get me up and running.
"Good night, Sungchan," she replies without turning around, her eyes trained on the screen in front of her.
"Is it morning or night?" I debate with myself, trying to figure out whether 3 am is very late at night or extremely early in the morning.
"Do you think it's morning or night?" I ask, desperate for another person's opinion.
"I mean, I don't know, let's just call it the Devil's Hour or something," Kayla answers, still not looking at me.
"How's your work going?" I ask, changing the topic and settling for Kayla's answer.
"I'm almost done, just give me half an hour or so," she responds.
"Okay, bye!" I say, not wanting to distract her from the work that she's doing. It seems very urgent, and I don't want to accidentally ruin everything.
I spot Lucas picking up suitcases and loading them into a... is that a bus outside? IS THAT A BUS THAT I SEE?
Shoving the rest of my donut into my mouth, I race over to grab a suitcase so I can go outside and see the large vehicle up close.
Yep, Kayla somehow has a whole bus. I'm not even that surprised at this point. She can show up with a whole private jet if she wants to and it'll be normal.
I grab another suitcase and drag it outside.
This is going to be a stressful few hours.
