Jisung's POV

I see Kayla pull out her phone from next to me. Out of the corner of my eye, through a security camera, I see a man dressed in black standing at the front door. I choke on my food and start violently coughing. Chenle gives me a weird look.

Kayla immediately tells us to go to the basement, and pull on some kind of English book. Apparently, Taeyong memorized the name, and he starts moving immediately.

After some prompting, we all start moving and run down the stairs.

"I'm going to answer the door," Kayla says, like it's no big deal. I'm concerned for her, but I'm so scared, I don't even know what to do, so I just go with the flow - literally. I'm pretty much sandwiched in between Chenle and Jaemin.

Before I know it, we're all in the basement. Well, except for Kayla. Mark finds the English book and pulls on it - and the bookshelf swings open! I repeat, the bookshelf literally opened, right in front of our eyes!

Taeyong rushes us all in, without giving me a chance to look around at the basement in awe. So I just follow the stampede into the secret room. It's so cool!

There's a huge couch, a rug, and a couple beanbags facing a TV, along with a table in between them. I see a door with the word "Bathroom" on it - at least I can read that English word! I also see a door labeled "Food". I know that word too! It's one of my favorite words. There's also some other random items of entertainment in the room.

Taeyong enters last and pulls the bookshelf closed, using, like, 10 locks to secure the door. Do weird people come and attack this house on a daily basis?

Ten spots a wire, and plugs it into Kayla's phone. The TV lights up with live footage from the security camera. What kind of technology is in this room?

As we watch, the man seems to be threatening Kayla. I can't understand what they're saying. All I know is Kayla looks so calm yet confused, and she doesn't look scared at all!

Johnny, Mark, and the other people who can understand English suddenly burst out laughing, unable to stop. Why the heck are they laughing? What's going on?

"She's playing dumb! She's like, 'Wanna be friends? Let's talk about NCT! Come in and eat lunch with us'!" Mark gasps, translating. I laugh along, too.

A few minutes later, the man finally turns and stalks off. Kayla's persona changes immediately, and she turns back into the quiet, antisocial girl she's been like since we've been here.

Taeil runs to the bookshelf and unlocks all of the complicated locks as fast as he can, then opens the door. Kayla stands there, acting like nothing happened. Somebody give this girl an Oscar!

We all throw ourselves on top of her, glad she's safe at last.

"Do you guys want to, like, play a game or something to de-stress?" Kayla asks when we're finally done hugging her.

We all cheer, and decide to play Pool and Ping-pong. We go up to the first floor, where the tables are, and do a random tournament. It's so much fun!

Kayla's really good at the games. Well, she's probably been playing all her life. Actually, I don't know who she'd play against, since we haven't seen any of her family members. Anyways, they're probably just busy or something.

The games finish with a round or cheering and laughter. We haven't been able to have this much fun in so long! I feel happier than I've felt in a long time.

"Well, since you're all going to be staying here for the night, we should decide how to sleep and stuff like that," Kayla suggests. We all agree and start walking up to the living room.

"So, let's decide the rooming!" Kayla smiles. Why am I actually happy that we're going to be stuck here? I just hope we're not a burden to Kayla. Anyways, this is going to be fun!
