Kayla's POV
The process of transforming this room is going very smoothly. I can't believe our productivity - It only takes 10 minutes for us to get all the furniture out and start on the posters.
Slowly but surely, NCT starts trickling back into the room to help us take down the posters. I still haven't gotten over the fact that they're signed by the legends themselves.
By the time all 24 of us are back, the posters are nearly stacked on one of the shelves in my closet. The wall is completely clean. Good thing I'm a simple person, or else the walls would be covered in stickers that would've taken forever to scrape off.
"I honestly think white is a good color for the background. What kind of concept do you guys want to have for this stage?" Renjun questions, turning to us.
"Clean and fresh," Chenle answers immediately. Wow, the creativity.
"Pure and simple," Kun adds.
"They mean the same thing," Yangyang laughs, shutting his mouth after Kun almost growls "Sit down!" at him.
"Alright, so like the outfits, lighting, stuff like that are just going to be basic and light-colored?" I clarify, nodding thoughtfully.
"Yea, maybe pastel-ish or something," Winwin suggests, immediately earning exclamations of agreement. Everyone is whipped for Winwin.
"For the outfits, I think it would be nice if we had just a pure, white kind of feeling, you know?" Jeno suggests, struggling to find the right words.
"So, you're basically suggesting pure white outfits," Jaemin summarizes for him.
"Yep, exactly that!" He beams at Jaemin, who rolls his eyes in response. Best friend goals.
"I think that's a fresh idea. We could also do an outfit change or something, into just plain black or grey or something that would match," Renjun suggests.
"Good ideas," Taeyong compliments, his thumbs rapidly typing on his screen in order to capture all of the information being tossed around. I hope he doesn't pull a muscle.
"We should probably order anything we'll need as soon as possible, to make sure that it'll actually be here in time for the concert," I advise, checking the time.
"Let's do it!" Mark cheers enthusiastically.
~Time Skip~
It's been about an hour, and I think that we have pretty much everything that we're going to need. Outfits, props, extra lighting, anything else we need, we've ordered.
"Alright, I think we're about done!" Taeyong confirms, standing up from the floor and stretching.
I take the laptop from them, where they put everything in the virtual shopping cart. Quickly typing in my credit card number, I check out and make sure to select the fastest delivery possible.
"Oi Kayla, why did you pay for us?" Jungwoo asks, noticing me sitting there with the laptop.
"Just consider it a gift, please. Plus, my card has faster shipping," I answer, quickly waving it off.
Unfortunately, it's supposedly a big deal, judging from the expressions of everyone.
So, before I get interrogated again, I change the topic and say, "Let's go outside to see our outdoor state!"
With some confused expressions, the members shrug and follow me out the door to the balcony, gazing at my yard in awe from the birds-eye view.
Out of the corner of my eye, I notice a little movement out of the corner of my eye. My heart drops into my stomach. What type of timing is this?
Just as I'm about to ask the members to go back inside for a second to avoid the upcoming impediment, Katelin notices us. No. No, no, no, no, NO. NO.
She starts walking towards us, flipping her hair. A wave of expensive-smelling perfume hits me. This is very uncomfortable.
Without a second thought, I step in her path.
"Hey there, my dear sister! How have you been?" she asks in the fakest voice ever.
"I'm good, and you?" I answer, keeping my cool, cringing at her voice and trying not to gag.
"I'm amazing, but even better seeing you all. Who are those handsome men behind you?" she asks, attempting to wink at them. Ew.
"Friends," I answer curtly.
"Oh? You have friends? Wow!" she exclaims, sounding genuinely surprised. How annoying. I just want to get away from her.
"Yes, and we'd like to leave now, bye!" I answer, turning around to go.
"Awe, don't be so rude! I wanna get to know your friends!" she calls. "I'm 20, by the way, if you all wanted to know. By the way, where are you all from?"
"They're my college friends, Katelin," I almost hiss, impatient. She's really trying to get under my skin, huh? That's not a good idea, Katelin.
"Wait, you're in college?" she gasps, once again looking genuinely surprised.
"Yes, but you wouldn't know," I retort, unable to keep the bitterness out of my voice.
" Are you taking a course in Korean? They look Korean," Katelin continues. Now she's on my nerves.
Without answering her question, I signal Taeyong to go as fast as he can, and we all disappear back inside.

Ooh, some family interaction? 😏
