Kayla's POV

"Good night, Kayla!" I hear Jungwoo call out as he passes me on his way to his room. I return the greeting and sit down on the couch, debating with myself in my head.

Should I make sure that nothing could possibly go wrong during the concert tomorrow, or should I sleep?

I should sleep...

But I'm not going to sleep.

If something were to go wrong tomorrow, I'd never forgive myself.

So, I force myself up from the couch and sneak down to the basement. I survey the storage room, taking inventory of all of my equipment.

Cameras, lighting, camera stands, cords, mics... Shoot, where is the screen? I swear I left it in this box. How did I lose something so big? This is critical to interacting with the fans and their comments.

I roam around, searching every single one of the shelves. "Where the heck is that screen?" I hiss, annoyed at myself.

"The what?" someone asks from behind me. I jump in surprise, hitting my arm on one of the many shelves.

"You scared me," I mutter, rubbing my arm.

"What were you looking for?" Taeyong asks nonchalantly, chewing on a piece of dried sweet potato.

"Um, just a screen that we need for tomorrow?" I respond, my voice still shaking from the scare.

"Like the one right there?" he asks, pointing to one of the highest shelves. Sure enough, the screen that I'm looking for is sitting right there. How did I miss that?

"Yeah, that's the one. Thanks," I say, climbing up the sturdy shelves to reach it.

"No problem. By the way, what are you doing here?" the leader inquires, eyeing the shelves skeptically.

"I could ask you the sa- Sorry, I meant I was just looking for the screen," I explain, barely managing to stop myself from making a rude remark.

"Um, I didn't see you on the couch, so I came to tell you to go to bed," he explains, answering my unfinished statement.

"Oh. I'll sleep soon," I promise, secretly crossing my fingers as I climb down the shelves.

"Whatever you say," he sighs, shrugging and turning around to  leave, as if he doesn't believe me. Smart human.

"Good night," I call.

"Good night, you'd better be asleep in 5 minutes," he warns in a friendly tone, shuffling out the door in his slippers. I laugh quietly to myself, knowing that it's not going to happen.

Actually... Taeyong did ask me to sleep, and everyone listens to Taeyong. Maybe I should just go to bed. Hm. I start to second guess my decision.

You know what, I'll just sleep and wake up early tomorrow. There, now I can both follow Taeyong's order and get everything checked before the concert.

After finishing up the stuff I was doing, I wash up and get out all of my bedding.

Then I go to sleep early, for once.

~Time Skip~

The next morning, my day starts at 4:00 again. Hopefully, 5 hours is enough time to get the concert ready, get the group ready, eat breakfast... Wow, we have a lot to do.

I walk into the basement bathroom to get ready. The floor is wet, and there's a bottle of shampoo in here. The air is steamy, and water is dripping from one of the showerheads. Uh... Maybe somebody went to bed late?

I brush it off and quickly finish getting ready, then head to the backyard through the garage.

As I round the corner, I notice that the marble around the pool is... slippery and wet? Weird.

"HI KAYLA!" a certain dolphin shrieks. I look up from the grass and see all 23 of the members, standing in my backyard at 4 in the morning.

"Chenle!" someone cries in annoyance. Searching for the voice, I finally locate Jisung, standing next to Chenle, covering his ears and dripping with water.

"Um... What happened?" I ask, confused.

"He fell into the pool," Jaemin sighs, rolling his eyes.

"Chennle pushed me!" Jisung defends himself.

"Interesting. You can go inside to wash up, you know," I tell Jisung. "I know the pool isn't exactly warm in the mornings, speaking from experience."

"No, it's fine," he answers, shivering in the light morning breeze.

I tell everyone to give me a second, rushing into the house. Down in the laundry room, I grab a clean towel from the dryer and return to the backyard.

"Here, take this," I say, handing the towel to Jisung. He accepts it and gratefully wraps it around himself.

"The weather seems nice enough," Taeyong comments, glancing up at the sky.

"Taeyong, the sun isn't even up yet," Doyoung points out.

"The weather forecast said it would be nice!" Taeyong argues.

"Rookie mistake. Never trust the weather forecast," is Doyoung's response. Facts.

"Let's try to get something productive done, okay?" Kun suggests, putting an end to the whole argument.
