Yuta's POV
"You know, Kayla, you have a lot to explain to us," Taeyong hyung comments.
My mouth is wide open in surprise. According to my observations, Kayla is pretty much the most overpowered 14-year-old I've ever met in my life.
"Wait, let me get this straight. You can drive? And you can contact all of the concert people? Not to mention all the managing?" I clarify in disbelief. Kayla glances at me and slowly nods.
"Bro, even I don't know how to drive - I've only been in the driver's seat for MVs!" Mark gasps. True.
"Hyung, what's the minimal age for someone to get a driver's license in America?" Winwin asks, turning to me.
"Uh, I'm not sure," I repply, slightly upset that I couldn't answer Winwin's question.
"It's technically 16 years old," Johnny answers, and then his face lights up with realization. "KAYLA, IT'S NOT LEGAL FOR YOU TO DRIVE!"
"Exactly my point," Taeyong agrees. "So, care to explain, Kayla?"
"Uh, I don't think Taeyong needs to interrogate you, but you do have some storytelling to do," Jaehyun adds, glancing at Kayla.
"Is it storytime?" Jisung asks excitedly. What a child.
"Uh, I guess it is?" Kayla replies.
"Alright, please take the seat of honor," Jungwoo announces, pulling a random chair towards the TV, so that whoever sits in it will be facing all of us.
Kayla hesitantly goes over and sits down in it. "This is making me feel extremely self concious," she comments with a laugh.
"No procrastinating!" Lucas jokes, wigging his finger at her.
"Okay, so, what do you guys want to know? We can have, like, a Q&A if you guys want," Kayla suggests, shifting in the armchair.
"Why are you being so formal, like this is a job interview for becoming the next member of NCT?" Johnny asks, trying to loosen up the atmosphere. We all break into laughter.
Taeyong raises his hand, and the laughter dies down.
"Taeyong, you may speak. Each member is allowed one question only, so please choose your words wisely," Haechan declares, immediately assuming the role of "Interviewer". I swear, this boy can be so extra sometimes.
"Yes, Taeyong, please speak," urges Taeil, standing up next to Haechan. Why is Taeyong even playing along? It is entertaining, but we need to cut to the chase.
"First things first. Why can you drive?" Taeyong asks, after a moment of thinking, probably about which question he wants to ask first - there are a lot.
"Miss Kayla, please answer honestly," Haechan reminds Kayla, still being extra.
"I can drive because my parents have connections, and also I'm a genius," she answers. Well, I doubt nothing about what she said. It all kinda makes sense, if you think about it.
"Next!" Haechan announces. Ten raises his hand, and talks without getting permission from Haechan.
"Where are your parents?" he asks.
"Upstairs," Kayla answers. I sigh. Ten should have asked a more specific question. Of course her parents are upstairs, where else would they be? But, seriously, I haven't seen even one of her family members so far, and we've been here for at least 24 hours already. How strange.
Just then, her phone rings. Someone must be calling her.
"I'm so sorry, I'll be right back," she says before standing up and going down the stairs, pulling her phone out of her pocket.
I take this time to think about what question I want to ask.
This Q&A is very interesting.
