Kayla's POV

Wow. I actually surprised myself with that rant. It was a lot of fun, though. My favorite part was their expressions. I should've taken a picture.

NCT sure has changed me. A few days ago, I would've never even thought about talking to my parents like that, much less enjoying.

And here I am, feeling like I'm on top of the world.

You know the quote, "Surround yourself with people who are only going to lift you higher"?

I feel like I've finally done just that. Actually, I don't know what the future is going to look like, but I have a really good feeling about it.

If I ever write an autobiography, just for fun, I'd probably split it into two parts: Before NCT, After NCT.

And to think this all  happened within the span of 3 days. Incredible.

"So, Kayla, you're coming to Korea with us?" Jisung asks hopefully, yanking me back to the present.

"You bet!" I answer cheerfully.

"Is it just me, or does Kayla look and sound like a different person?" Renjun observes, staring at me like I'm a complete stranger.

"She looks happier," Winwin concludes. We all immediately voice our agreement. I don't know what happened to me, but I like it.

"Alright, let's get it!" Mark screeches in excitement. I like this mood a lot more than the one from a couple of hours ago.

"So, we're leaving tomorrow morning. What do we need to do before then?" Doyoung asks, back to business.

"Honestly, I'm probably going to pull an all-nighter until we leave," I answer truthfully.

"That's not healthy, Kayla," Kun immediately scolds.

"Okay, Mom," I tease, playfully rolling my eyes.

"OH NO! Not another disrespectful young child! Yangyang! Haechan! Chenle! WHAT KIND OF WITCHERY IS THIS? WHERE DID MISS PERFECT GO?" Kun gasps dramatically.

"Also, I thought that I was Mom," Taeyong adds, crossing his arms.

"We need to get down to business, though. Well, at least I do," I decide, mentally scrolling through a list of people I can contact who will help me.

"What should we do?" Xiaojun asks.

"First of all, mentally prepare yourselves for all of the work. As much as I want to, I don't think I can handle all of this by myself," I begin.

"I think you should write out a list of things for us to do," Taeyong suggests.

"Um, I don't think any piece of paper will be big enough," I sigh.

"Write on the wall," Chenle suggests out of nowhere.

"Um, WHAT?" I ask, shocked at the way that his brain works.

"We can erase it as we complete them," Haechan agrees enthusiastically.

"What if it leaves marks?" I ask, concerned for the poor walls of my house.

"It doesn't matter," Renjun replies casually.

"You know, I kind of like this idea," I say, actually considering the idea. Making up my mind, I take a pencil and start scribbling all over the wall by the stairs. Wow, this feels great.

Within a few minutes, the wall is almost full with everything I've written, and my hand is officially sore.

"Let's get to work!" I suggest.

~Time Skip~

Oh my goodness, it's been so many hours, and I'm still working like my life depends on it. I mean, my happiness and well-being depends on it, which are two things I've never considered before.

I'm about halfway through dumping stuff on other people who know my parents, and so far, everything is going pretty smoothly.

My estimation is that I'll be able to finish by midnight, and then I can pack stuff that I need within four hours. Wow, this is stressful.

Let's get to work.
