Chapter 10
Normal POV
Thunderan Territory
Nadira felt a pang in her chest. It was as a result of the link she shared with her family.
She nearly choked on her own saliva and blood dripped from her nose. She grit her teeth at the numbing pain that spread from her heart to her limbs.
Thankfully, she was in her quarters so she could fall to the floor without attracting unwanted attention.
She clutched her chest closed her eyes and was immediately assaulted with images of her people being killed and her sister being shucked away to a strange place.
But the most painful was her mother who disintegrated along with some other high born females.
She felt an extra weight that pooled in her stomach like her magic and it made her want to scream in agony but she bit down on her tongue to avoid alerting people.
The giantess groaned and curled up on the floor in pain.
She knew who was responsible for this pain but she'd sooner kill herself with bone crusher, her spiked hammer, than act on anything.
She would rather find a way to gather an army to take down the monster than do it alone.
Thundra would pay someday and she would definitely be a part of it.*******************
Zeddein flashed in from Cybryn and landed in the palace courtyard instead of inside the palace due to the massive barrier around it.
His landing faltered and he fell to his knees coughing out a bit of blood as he got back on his feet.
"My prince, are you alright?" the same man who'd helped him save those people at Serpentina and Cybryn, asked in alarm as he watched the prince stumble towards where he and the other soldiers stood, clutching his side.
His wings trailed behind him like a bloodied white cape. He gave them a weak smile and grit his teeth in pain.
"I'm fine" he wheezed and spat out blood that filled his mouth when his ribs cracked and fused back again.
"Prince!" the soldiers exclaimed in alarm and rushed to his side but he held up a hand to stop them.
He hissed and finally stood up straight. "I appreciate the concern but I assure you, I'm perfectly fine"he assured them with a smile.
"Where is my father?" he asked them.
"He's in the throne room" the general answered and Zeddein nodded.
"What about my mother?"
"She went out to see the orphans"
"Oh. When she gets back, tell her I've returned" he ordered and went into the palace to report to his father.*******************
Thundra looked down his nose at the kneeling boy before him.
"What should I do to you? You literally made my years of teaching and instructing look like trash and not only were you beaten in a fight, you were also captured, subdued and wounded" Thundra growled as he took the steps down the Throne to come and stand in front of his son.
The boy had brought the emblem as instructed and it had been verified as an original.
"I apologize, father. I underestimated them" the boy bowed his head in remorse but he knew better.
His father would punish him and make him take the weird tasting elixir he was so used to."Get up" Thundra ordered and the boy swiftly got up, head still bowed.
"You know I can't leave you unpunished" Thundra gritted his teeth and grabbed his son's hair in a fierce grip before bringing his head down on his knees with enough force to probably break the boys nose.Zeddein staggered and saw double. He lifted his hands to touch the sticky liquid running down his nose and he almost ran away but his father growled at him and he came back to stand before his father again.
"You know how much I despise fear and any show of it" the king spat out, taking menacing steps towards the boy.
"Father, I-" Zeddein started but was cut short by a vicious slap to his face.
The force of the slap caused his head to turn to the side with a nasty crack in his neck.
