Chapter 4
Thunderan Territory
Normal POV
The room was spinning and his throat was so dry he could hardly even swallow without feeling like there were blades or sharp stones lining his throat and moving.
His vision was blurred and there was a deafening ringing in his ears that was staring to hurt.
He was bleeding through his nose and his ears and coughing up blood on top of all that.
His heart was beating so hard and so fast that it felt like it would burst out of his chest if it didn't steady back up."Zeddein, how do you feel, son" The king asked the boy that was sprawled out on the marble floor with his face down.
He was writhing and clawing the ground with his nails that were now sharp claws."Stop" he half croaked, half wheezed, baring his elongated fangs.
His colors of his irises were swirling and changing.
His eyes were blown wide as the irises stopped changing color and were now a mix of silver with red and black colors swirling around inside them."Ahh!" he screamed in pain as his wings forced their way out of his back and didn't just unfurl like they usually did. They were growing and expanding until they were twice their usual size and were now a mix of white with little black and red feathers adorning the tips.
*****************
Thundra felt no remorse even after killing a revered seer and upsetting his son and wife a lot.
He didn't even spare them a glance as he simply walked into his chambers and shut and locked the large doors."Let me deal with him, mother" Zeddein growled out with bared fangs and razor sharp claws instead of his fingers.
"Let him be son" Lera soothed her son, gently stroking his bicep, causing him to relax and his body reverted back to normal.
"Just for you mother" the boy smiled lovingly at his mother, his treasure.
"Well, I don't think your father is going to be letting me into our bed chamber this night. I'll leave you to rest while I go check out one of the guest rooms" she ruffled her son's hair as she made to go down the hall in search of a spare room.
"No, mother. Why don't you take my room" the boy caught his mother's wrist and got down on one knee much like a loyal knight.
"Funny. Get your ass up, tiny. I'm not scared of the dark" Lera flicked her son's left ear and pulled him up.
"You're not a knight and I'm not having a sleep over with you. I'm far too old for that stuff" Lera chuckled at her son's request.
"Please, mama" the boy begged, making the cutest puppy dog eyes he could muster.
"Stop with the stink eye. I'll have a sleep over with you" Lera chuckled and Zeddein practically jumped on her in the name of giving her a hug.
"Thank you, mother" Zeddein smiled, and it almost broke Lera's heart because her husband would be the reason why that smile will fade soon and be replaced with nothing but an unreadable mask.
She hugged her son like it would be the last time she would hold him before releasing him so he could lead the way to his room.**********************
"What are you doing to him?!" Lera screeched as she bust open the doors to her sons room where Thundra was currently standing and watching their son writhe on the marble floor of the room.
She was currently dressed in a long sleeveless red gown that trailed behind her on the floor and her black waist lenght hair was in a tight braid and was placed on her shoulder."I haven't touched him. It's just a power surge. The boy is coming of age" Thundra just shrugged, sounding quite smug and actually... Excited?
Lera had to resist the urge to strangle her husband and remove the extra demonic blood in her son but she knew better because attempting to removing the blood in him now that he was already of age and had already been conceived and had grown with the other demonic blood inside him. Trying would mean utterly destroying his being if he was unlucky, but if he was lucky enough to live, he would be stripped of every trace if demonic blood or DNA inside him, leaving him as a human who could never age. A powerless and Rouge demon.Lera rushed to her son's side, almost tripping on her dress, heels clicking on the marble floor, to cradle the head of her jerking and lifeless looking son.
"Do something" Lera turned to her husband, still holding the boy.
"There is nothing you, I or anyone can do for him. His body is trying to make sure that the demon blood in his veins fuse properly and can blend and sync all his powers and attributes" Thundra explained, turning to leave the room.
The boy gradually stopped shaking and went limp eventually.*************************
The seer waved his hand in front of the curtain once they had entered the inner room to prevent eavesdropping from outside.
"Your son's blood is impure" the seer sighed once he and Lady Lera had entered his inner consultation room.
"How?" Lera gasped, shocked by the seer's words.
"Your husband had been pumping blood from different demon bloodlines into the child through you during your pregnancy" the seer explained, looking at Lera apologetically
"Which ones did he use?" Lera gritted her teeth.
"Only the most powerful" the seer looked at her, trying to see if she was stable enough to hear him out without leaving to rip her husband to shreds.
He nodded to himself once he was sure she wouldn't leave to hurt her husband after hearing him out.
"He used Fiery and Shadow demon blood. The blood of the god kings in those dimensions" the seer explained.
"Can we. Can I remove the foreign blood from him?" Lera asked gently.
"The destinies said its part of the future that is to come. But even if it weren't destined, attempting to remove the blood could lead to either killing the boy, rendering him emotionally and mentally disfunctional or completely stripping him of his demon powers, making him a mere ageless mortal"
The seer shook his head, feeling sorry for the woman before him.
"So, nothing can be done" she muttered to herself, her right hand pulling at her hair in agitation and the seer nodded before moving towards her and going on one knee before her.
"The boy values you. You have more of a place in his heart than the Lord does. He is meant to become ruthless once he comes of age in two years time. Teach him now while you still can, to love, teach him to care, teach him compassion and teach him to not fall prey to the intoxicating effects of his forthcoming surge. It will do things to his mind, body and very soul. He will become even more ruthless than you or lord Thundra have ever been in your years of existence"the seer explained sadly, holding on to the wrist of her hand that wasn't pulling at her silky charcoal locks.
"I'll try, seer" Lera said rather coldly, her sadness diminishing to nothing as she straightened herself back up. Her tears had dried up and she was getting angrier.***********************
"Get back here and do something, Thundra!" Lera yelled, holding her limp son closer and tighter.
Thundra merely sighed, feeling sorry for his wife and his son as well."Mother" the boy choked on blood and spit it out of his mouth
"I'm here for you, son" Lera held his head to her chest
"It hurts" he whined and his wings flared up and fluttered a bit.
"Your wings are beautiful" she said with admiration in her eyes.
The boy smiled to himself and straightened out his wings then folded them against his back.
There was dried blood around him from the beginning of his little episode.Lera held her son close until the boy fell asleep.
She picked him up, thankful for her inhuman strength, and placed him in his bed, tucking him in like a little child.
She carefully rolled him over to be on his side so he wouldn't have to be sleeping on his new wings."One more year" she whispered, dropping a kiss on her son's forehead while a lone tear slid down her cheek.
She would have loved to spare the boy of his terrible destiny but she just couldn't bring herself to do it."Destiny calls and we must all must answer" she thought to herself as she exited her son's bed chamber.
