Chapter 17

Normal POV

Thunderan Territory

The sound of the large window in the throne room shattering brought made the king jerk in alarm.
Zeddein didn't waste time in taking to the sky, wings beating hard, and keeping him in the air.
Thundra let out a growl of frustration and shot a thunderbolt at his fleeing son.
Zeddein sucked in a breath as a thunderbolt grazed his side and burnt the exposed flesh of his ribs, even though he'd managed to maneuver himself out of the range of the thunderbolt.
His father was just that good.

He was thankful that it wasn't his mother because after experiencing her prowess in battle first hand, he really didn't want to know how well she could throw a thunderbolt or how many she could hurl at a time and he had no intention of even finding out.

    "Don't let him leave"

The king mind linked the soldiers around the palace and around the realm.
He suspected something when he'd heard a sonic boom in the sealed Throne room followed a pained howl.
The fight was over and the winner should have been the tribrid unless the queen had some nasty tricks up her sleeve.
And he was right, Lera had canceled out his mind seal and unlocked the boys reasoning and conscience.

The anger welling up inside him was turning mind upside down.
It was bringing out the animalistic rage that he'd contained for so long.
The prospect of losing all his hard work and efforts made his vision turn red and he saw red.
"Fire!"

He heard a soldier roar and saw a flood of arrows curving downwards towards the flying figure in the sky

Shit

Zeddein turned himself in the air, much like how you turn around to swim backwards except that you were in thin air and you had wings for propelling and paddling instead of using your arms and legs.
He made an - X- in front of him and raised a protective bubble, as strong as he could manage to burn up the arrows.
The injury on his side had been completely forgotten and it was throbbing and... Growing

Zeddein's eyes widened in realization.
His father knew he could recover from a wound from a thunderbolt so he must have put a seal or enchantment of some sort on the bolt before firing.
He was definitely screwed.

He moved to the barrier of around the palace but he bounced back instead of going through. He looked down through his shield and saw the soldiers setting up blocks to prevent him from leaving, changing the make and nature of the barrier to cage him in as they constantly fired arrows at him.
He needed to get out but he could feel the wound deepening and it hurt like a bitch.
He felt his wings vibrate a bit and his shield flickered before steadying again. He was going to go down soon.

Thundra smirked as his son faltered in midair failing to keep his balance and as as such, weakening his protective bubble at his back.
Normally, the enchanted thunderbolt would take a while for the target to feel its effects but the spiked adrenaline in his sin made it faster and slightly funny.
Thundra teleported to where his soldiers stood, keeping the barrier from granting the boy passage and at the same time, firing arrows at the boy at fast pace to weaken him enough to be brought down.

"Give me a bow and arrows" he said simply, eyes on the demon flying above. He had no intention of going up there to meet the boy. He'd bring him down and deal with him properly.
Zeddein faltered again and winced when hot white pain clouded his vision for a second but he managed to keep his shield up while trying to break out of be barrier.
Shooting the soldiers in his condition was an option but even though he dispatched them, his father could single handedly keep the barrier from letting him out and attacking his father was not an option. He'd fought one parent and he'd rather not fight another.
Especially one that could seal his magic and then kill him just to revive him again for fun.
