Chapter 15

Normal POV

Thunderan Territory

Lera had a very nasty feeling bugging her at the back of her head.
It felt like a thousand tiny voices were whispering and pleading with her to take care.
The feeling that something terrible was about to happen to her and her child.
She was still a bit angry with her husband for making him go to destroy another dimension.

Again

Zeddein was crying and she could smell the pain wafting from inside his room.
After the 'drilling' incident with his father, Zeddein had taken to sulking eternally, except when he was enjoying his mother's company, and being as quiet as a mouse.

He'd never healed fully from his time at Cybryn and his father's beating had opened up old wounds and broken barely fixed bones.
She had never been so scared in her life as she had been when it looked like her baby wouldn't make it.
He'd spent good 3 weeks in bed before managing to get up on a random night only for him to pass out for another 3 weeks after his fixed bones shattered again so his magic could fix them properly.

Lera shuddered as she recalled the night her son had woken up.
She'd jerked awake and ran out of her chambers when she heard a roar of pain.
She got to her son's room and nearly threw up at the sight of her son lying down broken on the floor in a pool of his own blood.

She screamed bloody murder for Thundra to do something and the man grogily got up from the bed and camr to Lera and his son.
He sighed and left for a bit, reappearing few minutes later with a syringes filled separately with red, black and silver liquids.
An extra syringe was filled with the red, black and silver liquids struggling to mix with each other inside.

Lera was pissed but she said nothing and let Thundra inject the liquids into Zeddein.
Zeddein twitched and opened his eyes, only for them to roll to the back of his head and he let out a scream of pain while he tried to thrash around as much as his body permitted.
Lera was tempted to just drive her sword in to Thundra's chest but she held herself when she heard Zeddein's bones cracking and fusing, his flesh stitching itself closed and his body calmed down before slumping.

He's fallen asleep. He'll live

Lera had decided that she would remain quiet and wait and watch her husband incure the wrath of the demon gods, who would definitely spare her and let her live happily ever after with her precious son.

But now, it was plain wrong.

The Thunderan council were agitated and had threatened to report to the gods and Thundra had sent Zeddein to take care of them.

Lera was angry.
Not at Zeddein.
But at Thundra.

Son of a bitch

She seethed and barged into the Throne room where Thundra sat with Zeddein, stoic and rigid behind him like a soldier.

Like a puppet

Her blood boiled with rage and she was going to settle the issue with her family once and for all.

"Thundra, you sick bastard!" Lera growled, walking closer to the throne and her clothing changed from her regal silk dress and heels to armored thigh high boots, and a silver chiton like short leather gown, leather gloves that reached her bicep on her arms, a slightly curved horns and her sword on her waist.
Thundra found her presence amusing and her outfit quite the turn on.
But too bad she'd have to die.

"What's wrong, dear?" Thundra smirked at her and she let out a sound of frustration, pointing her sword at him.
"You just had to kill them, didn't you? You couldn't just wipe their memories so they wouldn't carry out their threat. You just had to play the tyrant and now, 17 families are fatherless and headless" Lera hissed

"It wasn't tyranny. It was me establishing my authority and my power" Thundra sighed and rubbed his temples.
"Authority and power are meaningless when you use it for evil, Thundra. You of all people should know this. Your past is enough to teach you right and wrong. Idiot" she yelled at him.
Thankfully, the throne room had a powerful barrier around it to avoid eaves dropping after Thundra had found out that the guards had heard him thrashing his son.

"Do not speak of my past. It is nothing to me now" Thundra growled and the air crackled with power and made Lera scoff.
"I've held it in for far too long. Zeddein is old enough to make his own choices. You can only hold a 21 year old man for so long and he can only obey for so long" now it was Lera's turn to smirk as Thundra's eyes twitched in annoyance and a tic throbbed in his jaw.
Zeddein just stared ahead of him like he wasn't even in the room or even hearing a thing and it made Lera angry.

"What do you want, Lera?" Thundra was obviously angry now.
"I want to knock some sense into your prideful stupid block head" Lera growled
"A challenge?" Thundra's mood seemed to brighten now.
"Yes, idiot. I challenge you. I challenge you to a duel of thunder" she smiled and Thundra looked irritated again.

The duel of thunder was the highest form of fighting in Thundera and the penalty for losing was either death, losing a limb, if your lucky or your wings or a century in a cell with demon restraints on you while you were beaten mercilessly.
Lera could best him in a fight, with a hand tied behind her back and she didn't intend to kill him. She would just bind him for a century and let him suffer while her son could be free to undo all of Thundra's deeds.

Thunderans had one unique gift that took a while to be mature enough to access it but since Zeddein was a tri-brid, he'd access it with ease.
The gift of death-rebirth. It let's it's holder to destroy, recreate or undo destruction. He may not be able to undo the deaths, but the least he could do was to make the lands habitable again and foil Thundra's plans.

If Lera defeated him, Zeddein would use that gift, with Lera's help to undo all his hard work.
"I won't fight you, Lera" Thundra smiled at her as he made up his mind to reject her challenge.
But he smiled because she had just given him an Idea on how to get rid of her once and for all.

"Don't tell me your afraid?" Lera baited him but Thundra had more tricks up his sleeves.
He smiled sweetly before turning to give Zeddein a glance then turned back to his wife before speaking again.
"Zeddein, get rid of this woman in my Throne room" Thundra ordered and Zeddein looked up before bowing to his father.
"Full power. Lightning Rage is under your full control" Thundra smirked and Lera's jaw dropped.
She glared at Thundra who merely got up to leave, locking the throne room behind him.

"Coward. You set your son on me while you watch. I will tear him apart if I have to" Lera threatened but she was merely bluffing. She would never hurt her son. Never on purpose.

Never

"Fight, Lera. Don't hold back. If you do, Zeddein will surely kill you if you don't kill him first" Thundra mocked and walked away laughing because he knew that Lera would never dare to hurt their son.

Zeddein growled and lunged at Lera, who side stepped and his the back of his head with the handle of her sword.
Zeddein turned and made to hit her again.
Lera sighed and clashed weapons with him, the ground cracking and the walls shuddering on the impact.

Lera jumped back before Zeddein sliced her in half with his now silver wings that glinted in the sunlight like her blade.
Her son was immensely powerful but no match for a god. Not yet.

"Armour, rise" Lera sighed and activated her Thunderan gift before attacking Zeddein again.

This was going to be a long fight.
