To Sleep or to Be Awake ( Yandere Dream Demon x Reader )

Being Self-Aware

   " Is she okay? "

   " I don't know, she's been asleep for a while now, almost five hours. "

   " Should we shake her? "

   " No! That's the last thing we want to do! "

   ' Who are those voices? '

You opened your eyes and sat up. Your head hurt really bad and you felt restless. You looked around the room to see that you were in a kitchen. Laying on top of the table. A blanket was on top of you and behind you was a pillow that your head was laying on. 

There were two people standing in front of you. One of them was in a detective's uniform while the other one was wearing a waitress outfit. They both looked at you with wide eyes and the detective went to your side.

   " Are you okay miss? "

   " What happened? Where am I? "

   " You're in Cheswick city. " 

   " Where? "

   " The city of Cheswick. "

   " Where is that? "

   " Oh, God she doesn't remember. Do you know your name? "

   " Y/n. "

   " Good, you still remember your name. My name is Detective Reid. Ms. Carmen here found you passed out outside of her cafe. You were bleeding around your head really badly. Do you remember what happened? "

   " No, I don't. "

   " That's not good. "

   " Who's kitchen am I exactly in? "

    " My friend Scotty. Ms. Carmen said that before you fully passed out you murmured about not going to the hospital. I called Scotty and he let me use his apartment while he and his fiance were gone for their anniversary. " 

   " Oh. "

   " My friend Detective Barret should be here soon. He said he was going to help me figure it out a little more. Since you can't remember he said he could try and help you remember. He's done this before. "

   " I'm so confused. " 

   " We know you are, but wait for Barret to come. "

There was a knock on the door and when the police detective opened it another man stood on the other side. You took the time to memorize their features. Carmen had blonde hair and honey-colored skin, with brown eyes. Detective Reid had almond-colored skin and his hair was black and short. His eyes were also chocolate brown. 

The man at the door had mint colored hair and pale skin. His eyes were a bright blue and his smile looked infectious. He shook hands with Detective Reid and stepped inside. Instead of a brown trench coat like Reid was wearing he was wearing a black trench coat. His clothes consisted of white, black, or grey.

His bright blue eyes connected with your E/c eyes and you were entranced. Detective Reid walked back in quickly and started introducing the man.

   " This is Detective Barrett. He will talk with you as Carmen and I go investigate the flying spaceship outside. "

   "The what? "

Then in a moment, Detective Reid ran at the window wall and smashed through it. You looked over the glass and saw him on the ground but he was running away from the building, completely fine. When You looked back into the room Carmen was gone and it was only you and Detective Barret. Detective Barret grabbed your wrist and brought you back to the kitchen table. You were shivering from the drastic change from warm to cold temperature.

   " Here. "

Detective Barret's voice was smooth and deep. He took off his black trench coat and put it over your shoulders. 

   " What's going on? "

   " You don't know? Carmen found you on the street passed out-"

   " No! I was in a car crash! I was in a car crash and I ended up here. And that guy just jumped out of the window and fell down to the ground and survived! We're on the highest floor! "

   " So, you're self-aware. "

   " What do you mean? "

   " This is all a dream, my dear. "

   " What? "

   " You are asleep right now and you are in a dream. I'm surprised you're self-aware. "

   " Why? You seem to be self-aware. "

   " Usually when people dream they are observing a situation and they can't change anything that's happening. There is a small chance you could be self-aware and you can interact with what's happening in your dream. " 

   " So, I'm asleep? "

   " Yes. "

   " Does that mean you're asleep? "

   " No, I'm a dreaming wanderer. "

   " You walk through dreams? "

   " Exactly. I go to different dreams and watch them. Sometimes I take part in the madness that is dreams. I didn't think you would be self-aware when I came to visit you. "

   " How do I wake up? "

   " Well, right now you're passed out and will only wake up when your body wants you to. "

   " Great I"m stuck here. "

   " Yup! "

You looked out of the broken window and saw an alien ship coming towards where you were. It was heading straight for you and it wasn't slowing down. You looked at Barret and he didn't seem worried in the slightest.

   " Looks like it's time for a new scenario. "

Then the alien spaceship crashed into the building through the broken window wall. You stood up from the table and tried running to the door to open it but when you did there was nothing on the other side. It was only a cliff and you were about to fall down it when you closed your eyes as the spacecraft came closer.
