To Sleep or to Be Awake ( Yandere Dream Demon x Reader )

I Will

My head hurt a little bit as I sat up. I looked out of the window and saw that the sun was up and shining into the room. Bruno was still asleep beside me, but I figured he would wake up soon.

   ' What even happened? Why was removing that guy important? '

I ran my fingers through my hair and stood up from the bed. I walked to the bathroom and splashed my face with water hoping to fully wake up. I heard shuffling inside the bedroom and I looked into the room to see Bruno sitting on the bed. I dried my face off and walked back into the room.

   " Morning sleeping beauty. "

   " Morning, have you been up long? "

   " No, I just woke up. Hey, remind me why we were removing that guy from my memories. "

   " Oh, yeah. . .you don't remember Ji-Young since he was removed from everything. Let's just say long story short, he was a bad guy that needed to be removed. You won't remember who he is but you'll remember his actions. "

   " He killed people. "

    " Yeah he di-"

Bruno's words seemed to get stuck in his throat as he remembered something Ji-Young said in the dream. Bruno stood from the bed and slipped some socks and shoes on, before handing me mine.

   " Get your shoes on. We need to go to your house. "

   " Why? I'm not remembering a lot because I just woke up. "

   " Ji-Young mentioned your brother. Do you recall now? "

I thought back to what happened in the dream and I slowly recalled his words. I remembered how he said he had killed my brother and called him filth. His words started to ring in my head as I slipped my shoes on and I ran out of the house with Bruno getting in his car. I got in the passenger seat and he started driving towards my house. It was quiet in the car as he drove, not even the radio was on. The streets were clear because it was the working hour and people were usually staying at home avoiding human interaction. I could see my street and Bruno turned into it, with my house in sight. Before he even parked the car, I unlocked the door, and jumped out, and ran to the front door. I pulled my keys out of my pocket and slammed the key into the lock on the door handle. I twisted the handle and the key hoping the door would easily open and I didn't have to worry about finding another key. To my luck the door opened and, with Bruno on my heels, I ran into the house; looking for my brother. 

   ' He would be in his room. '

I ran to his room door and grabbed the handle, twisting and pushing it into the room. The first thing my eyes saw was the body of my brother on his bed, dead. His body looked frozen, but at his neck, the skin looked twisted. On closer inspection, his head was turned the opposite way, but it seemed to be turned too far and his arms were spread out. I walked up to my brother's body and put two fingers on his wrist. I pressed against his wrist looking for a pulse, but I didn't feel anything. I felt hands gently being placed on my shoulders and I was slowly pulled away from the body. Bruno pulled me out of the room and shut the door so I wouldn't have to look at the body of my brother. 

   " I'm sorry, Y/n. "

I couldn't say anything and I kept my eyes on the door. I felt like screaming, but I didn't know who to be angry at. The threat was dead, and Bruno didn't cause my brother's death. So, I held in my scream. I let the tears, however, fall freely and Bruno just hugged me to his chest.

The moon was high in the sky as the stars made themselves shown. They twinkled in the navy blue sky, like sparkles on a cake. The wind was blowing gently, but strong enough to push your hair a little bit. The night was calm and you felt relaxed when hearing the water from the waterfall hit the pool and then fall off the cliff.

   " I knew you'd be here. "

You turned around and spotted Bruno walking towards you. When he was close enough he took a seat beside you and looked out at the scenery. 

   " Well, this spot is beautiful. And it's very calming just sitting here at the cliff and looking out at everything. "

   " I'm glad I showed you then. I'm glad this place can make you calm and relaxed, but don't be so relaxed you fall off. "

   " Yeah, I'm not doing that. I'm keeping my eyes on the sky because I feel like if I look down, I'm going to get nauseated by the height. "

   " I have news about your mom. "

   " What is it? "

   " They said that since she's sleeping normally now, they're releasing her from the psych ward, but they're putting her in a regular hospital for a few months just to be careful. She should be ready to come home next year. "

   " That's a while, but I guess I can wait. "

   " You waited for three years you can wait for one more. How about your studies? "

   " They're fine. I'm not taking the hardest college courses. "

   " I'm glad they're not that bad, and I'm also glad you didn't go somewhere so far away. "

   " I mean Gillins is pretty far. "

   " But not as far as Ellington. That one was pretty far away, and I didn't feel comfortable with the thought of you being so far away. "

   " Why? What's so uncomfortable about it? "

   " Well. . ."

You looked towards Bruno to see a red tint on his cheeks. It was hard to see, but in the moonlight, you could see the red dust clearly.

   " I care about you and I want to be sure you're safe. After what happened three years ago sleeping never felt so different now. Every time I sleep I'm afraid that there's someone lurking in my mind trying to kill me. I don't want you to feel that way, and I don't want you to feel in danger. "

   " So, you wanted me to stick around for a little while so I would feel safer with you? Do I need to remind you who healed you in that dream? "

   " No, you don't. You rub it in my face about how you were a hero enough. "

   " Clearly not. "

You felt something warm slid into your hand and you looked down to see Bruno was holding your hand.

   "Then keep reminding me. "

You only smirked at him before looking back at the stars. You squeezed his hand and replied to his words with a smile.

   " I will. "
