To Sleep or to Be Awake ( Yandere Dream Demon x Reader )

The Changes

You walked through the halls not seeing anything weird happening. It seemed like a normal school. You walked down the stairs and towards the garden in the center. When you did you saw one girl drowning the other but the one drowning had a mermaid's tail. The tail was sticking out of the fountain.

   ' Do I help? '

You decided against it and started walking through the halls again. When you looked in every classroom there was something new. In one class there was a ritual going on. In another class, it was filled with water and people were swimming instead of drowning. You didn't enter any of the classrooms and you kept walking.

You opened another classroom door and saw a lot of people making out in the room. You felt a shiver run up your spine and you closed the door as quickly as you could. Every class had two doors and you shut the left door, the second door was in front of you. Your face was red from embarrassment and you held the handle of the door shut as tightly as you could. You heard giggling and saw MeMe and Lee running your way. 

You looked at Lee and he glanced at you still in character mode. MeMe opened the other door into the room of people making out and pulled Lee by his hand into the room. Before he entered the room full he sent you a peace sign and a smirk. The door shut behind him and you turned to walk the other way, rolling your eyes. You walked to another door and opened it.

The metallic smell of blood hit your nostrils and you stepped back. Inside you could see Oliver holding a knife and standing above a body. You didn't know who it was but he had just murdered someone and was now looking at you. He stood up straight and continued to stare at you.

   " Oh, it seems you saw my work. "

   " I-I won't say anything. "

   " Of course you won't. Because I'm going to make sure you stay quiet. "

He raised his knife up and smiled at you. You turned and started running away from him. You could hear his footsteps chasing after you, and you knew that if you stumbled or tripped, it would be your end. Lee's words, ' If you die here you die in reality', rang in your head and it drove you to run faster. You turned into the courtyard to see the fountain and trees gone, now it was a circus filled with clowns. 

You ran through it trying to get to the other door. Clowns were tossing stuff back and forth and you didn't want to get hit by a fire baton. Oliver was still chasing after you and he had a sinister grin on his face. You got to the exit and swung the door open. You found yourself in the room of people making out and you could feel the heat of all of them hit you. 

   ' Are you serious? I would have preferred anywhere else! '

You entered the room and shut the door behind you. You could hear Oliver beating on the door and it didn't seem to affect the people around you. Your eyes scanned the room, looking for an exit and you spotted one. You darted for the exit, letting go of the door and you ran through people to reach the door. You felt a pair of eyes on you as you ran and you looked to your left to see Lee kissing MeMe, but his eyes were open and following your form. 

You turned your head back to the door and threw it open, running out of the hot room. You were shaking from fear, you knew Oliver wouldn't stop running and you hated that you were getting tired in your own dream. You looked around the hall and didn't see any change at all. Oliver was banging on the door, as hard as he could. You let go of the door handle and the door didn't budge. 

Oliver continued to beat on the door, but it didn't move. You sat against the wall, not knowing what to do. You felt unwanted tears in the corner of your eyes and you started blinking to get them to go away. After blinking three times your surroundings changed. You were not in school anymore.

You were in an alleyway. You were wearing combat camo skinny jeans, a hat, and a jacket. Your shirt was a black crop top that matched your black belt. You stood up in your combat boots and looked around. There was garbage around you and you didn't know where you were. 

It was dark and around you were littered machine parts. On your belt was a pistol. You slowly approached the end of the alley and looked outside. Robots were everywhere and the city you were in was high-tech. People were running around shooting the robots and hiding. 

Your jacket was pulled back into the alleyway and you were held against someone's chest. The person leaned on the wall and you saw a robot walking by, scanning the area. The robot was tall and almost touched the fifth story of the building in front of you. The scanner scanned the alley but didn't catch you or the man behind you. The robot started walking away with heavy steps and when it was out of sight you pushed yourself off of the man.

You turned to see who it was and you saw a man that was six foot. His hair was brown and spiky, with blue piercing eyes. He was built and he was wearing clothes like your own, except he wore a black tank top. He was holding a machine gun on one of his gloved hands while the other was free because he grabbed you. Your guard never went down and you were curious.

   " Who are you? "

   " In this scenario I'm Dongen. "

   " Lee? "

   " I'm Dongen here. "

   " We're in a new scenario. "

   " You better be glad it changed, when you left that classroom Oliver looked like he was close to beating down that door. "

   " Thanks for the help. "

   " I care about my life. "

   " Clearly, I hope you had a fun time making out with MeMe, while I was being chased. "

   " It's not like I wanted to, I just followed her lead and my characters lead. Again I care about my life to not break character when needed. "

   " So, you care about your life more than mine? "

   " Yeah, I just met you. "

   ' Wow, what a great friend. '

   " Let's go, people at the base were looking for us and we need to get back and play it safe there until the next dream. This one is quite dangerous. You play too many video games. "

   " They're fun. "

   " When you're playing them they are. BUt when you're in the reality of it, it's not. "

He grabbed your hand and started walking down the alleyway, and away from the streets.
