Totally Not Kidnapping

The car ride with Bruno was silent. Neither one of you spoke, and your eyes were off in another world. You looked outside of the window and watched the scenery go by, not saying a word to the detective driving. You wanted to just stay home and sulk, and grieve for your lost friend, not be outside where people can look at you. The car he drove was nice. It was a car that was low to the ground and it was a sports car. 

   " So, where are we going again? "

   " I'm not telling you. "

   "Why not? "

   " Because it's a surprise. Why would I tell you if it was a surprise? "

   " I don't know because this could be considered kidnapping since I didn't come here willingly. "

   " I mean you walked with me to my car, and I never forced you to come. "

   " Couldn't it be considered force? I didn't want to come in the first place, so-"

   " Trust me, this isn't a kidnapping. I'm a cop, why would I kidnap a citizen? "

   " I don't know, why would you? "

   " To get the girl out of her house because she needs to see the sun. Who is also getting the cop worried because the principal told the cop you were not having an easy time with her best friends passing. So, I took it upon myself to try and cheer, said girl up. "

   " You're really trying here. "

   " I am, plus who else is going to do it? I know you don't have a good relationship with your brother, so I might as well try. "

    " Well, aren't you sweet. "

   " Thank you. " Bruno said looking over and winking at me.

You rolled your eyes and hid the smile that almost appeared on your face. The car turned on to the interstate and Bruno stepped on the gas to keep in pace with the other cars, passing some that was going too slow. 

   " So, how has the investigation been? Found anything you could share with a humble civilian? "

   " So, far it's at a stop. There's nothing we can look into because those three girls who died in the summer have no known causes. With their parent's permission, we ran an autopsy and nothing came back. There was nothing physically or internally wrong with the girls. And there was nothing to tell us how they died. THey just did. "

   " Could it have been a spasm during the night? "

   " No, because the autopsy showed that nothing was wrong. We have no idea what happened to them. "

   " What about Cindy? "

   " We don't know about that either. When we investigated we found no sign of physical damage. There was nothing wrong with Cindy physically so we can rule out that it was a murder or a suicide. Now the way her body was positioned in the desk was interesting. "

   " Why do you say that? "

   " The way her body was positioned...it looked like she had been shot in the forehead, but without the bullet wound and brain damage. "

   ( Flashback )

The mysterious figure turned towards you and its red creepy smile seemed to turn into a smirk before looking back at Cindy.

   " You're not needed anymore. "

And then it happened. The mysterious dark figure pulled the trigger and Cindy flew back towards a building. Her back hit the building and she laid limp against it with a bullet hole in her head. You stopped running and you could hear your heartbeat in your ears. Your eyes couldn't leave Cindy's slump form, and it couldn't stop the tears from falling down your face. 

( Flashback Over )

   " Y/n? "

   " Yeah? " You asked turning towards Bruno.

   " You turned pale really quick. What are you thinking about? "

   " Nothing too important. "

   " If it's not too important then you can tell me. You turned pale really quickly so, whatever you thought about must have really scared you. "

   " Let's not worry about it. "

   " I'll ask later. We're here anyways. "

The car turned off and you looked out of the window at where you were at. You were in a forest, and Bruno had stopped the car in the middle of the one-way street. There were no houses around and when you looked at your phone you realized there was no signal. Bruno got out of the car and walked over to your side, before he could open the door you got out and stood in front of the man with the door between you both. 

   " So, let me get this straight. You took me from my home without my consent. Drove me to a forest with no houses for what looks like miles. Actually, nothing for miles but a river and trees, along with no signal around the area. And are you still going to say this is not a kidnapping or killing? "

   " Yes, I'm still saying that. "

   " Remind me the next time you want to take me somewhere to make sure someone knows where I am going. That way if I go missing someone will know where I last was. "

   " Will not do that. "

   " What a reliable cop. "

   " Only when needed. Right now I'm just trying to cheer you up. "

   " Fun. "

   " Now, come on. We're not there yet, we need to walk to get there. "

   " We have to walk? "

   " I'll make a deal with you. I'll carry you half the way and you won't report me to my officers. Deal? "

   " I'll take it. "

   " Great! Do you want me to carry you now or later. "

   " Later. "

   " Well, let's get walking. "
