The End Pt. 1

I looked around and saw that the floor was clear of any desks or office walls. We were just standing on a glossed concrete floor with nothing around us but the elevator and the stairs that went through the floor. The walls around us were made of glass, and you could see a clear view of the outside world. I ran to one of the windows and looked out of it, and saw the clouds. We were so high in the sky that we were above the clouds themselves.

   " Y/n, come on. We've got to keep moving. "

   " Right. "

I ran back to Bruno and we decided to take the stairs instead of the elevator. The stairs were out in the open of the floor beside the elevator. We ran to the stairs and started climbing down them. I went first as we descended the stairs. The floor we descended to didn't have anything on it; like the first floor. We went to the next floor, and it was the same way. 

   ' They must all look the same, empty. '

We descended the floors, and I made sure to look over at the clouds to see if we were even getting closer to the middle of the building, but it didn't look hopeful. We still looked like we were on the first floor and we were not getting any closer to the first floor. 

   " How many floors have we gone down? " I asked Bruno.

   " It feels like ten but maybe six. "

   " Should we risk the elevator? "

   " I don't think so. Even though it's faster he could still tamper with it easier than catching us here. "

   " But I'm not fit for this. "

   " Let's just keep going, there's got to be something these stairs are going to do for us beside wear our legs down. "

I only nodded at him and descended to the next floor, but this floor was different. I stopped on the stairs and looked around the floor and it looked like an apartment. Outside of the windows, it was dark, and I could see other buildings. There were two people inside of the apartment and it looked like they were arguing over something. 

   " I don't know where she went! "

   " How!? I thought I left you here with Barrett! "

   " You didn't Detective Reid! I left! There were things I needed to take care of. "

   " Carmen, please just, leave the apartment and see if you can find her. We don't need a delusional woman running down the streets of Cheswick. "

I could see the woman called Carmen leave the apartment. I knew that I had recognized this place before, but it didn't hit me until 'Detective Barret' came into the room.

   " This was the first dream where I met Ji-Young! "

   " Is he here? "

   " Yeah, in every dream he had to take on a role. In this dream, he was Detective Barret. 

The said man looked up at us and smirked. I felt tense and I grabbed Bruno's hand, to make sure he stayed with me if we had to move further down the stairs.

   " Well, does this bring back any memories my dear? "

   " Yeah, it does, but I wish you weren't in them. "

Ji-Young reached in his pocket and pulled something out of the coat he was wearing. I could feel my heart rate pick up when I saw what he pulled out of his trenchcoat pocket. He had pulled out a small pistol. His smile never left his face, even when he aimed it at Bruno. 

   " Now, why don't we finish this now? "

I pulled Bruno forward and we went down another level. This level looked like a school classroom. But it wasn't a regular classroom, there were no students or teachers, but there was blood on the walls and floors. Outside the windows, it looked like we were on the ground floor. I stepped off of the stairs with Bruno following me. I looked around the room to find a door to leave, and I could hear Ji-Young's footsteps slowly come down the stairs.
