Chapter 37

"How is Christmas gonna work? I wanna see my mom, but I wanna meet your parents too." I asked Colby while brushing my teeth. He looked at me through the mirror and laughed. "What?" I asked confused as to why he was laughing at me. "Nothing, Sam said you're going with him Christmas eve morning and then we're taking a road trip to Kansas so you can meet my parents when you get back." After dad died, we moved from Kansas to L.A. to be closer to Sam, then I moved in with him. "Of course we are, no accidents this time okay?" "I would hope not." Friday was Christmas and it was Tuesday. Since Sam and Colby are gonna be traveling a lot next year, I got Colby a Bond Touch bracelet for Christmas so no matter how far away he is, technically I could still bother him.

"What if his mom doesn't like me?" I asked Kat nervously "Hey don't worry, she's gonna love you. I understand though, I'm scared to meet your mom too." "You have nothing to worry about, usually I don't like Sam's girlfriends but I consider you my sister already. She'll love you I promise," "Thanks coach," she said laughing "Anytime champ." We were interrupted by Corey running down the stairs screaming, and Jake chasing after him. "BRUVA I DIDN'T MEAN IT I'M SORRY." Corey yelled "YES YOU DID, I DON'T FORGIVE YOU. STOP RUNNING," "NEVER." Corey yelled back as he ran through the front door closing it behind him. "What the hell did Corey do?" Kat asked while I was trying to catch my breath. "He said Spongebob wasn't funny and that I looked like Squidward but acted like Patrick," "Oh-" I said before getting cut off by Corey opening the door again and yelling "AND I MEANT IT BITCH," before taking off again "Excuse me." Jake said before taking off after him. Kat looked at me and started laughing as we watched Jake chase Corey around the backyard. "What the hell- actually ya know what, I don't wanna know." Colby said walking down the stairs making his way over to us. "How was your meeting?" "It was alright, boring though." He said pulling me in for a hug and kissing me quickly before walking to the kitchen. I followed him. "Are you ready for tomorrow?" I asked him nervously. He was going with me and Sam to our moms house for dinner. "I think so, it's just dinner right? Should I get flowers?" He asked turning to meet my eyes. I guess I was staring, but come on it was hard not to. "Sorry what?" I said averting my eyes so I could actually finish the conversation. He laughed and kissed my forehead before taking my hand in one of his and the sandwich he had just made in the other. "Where are we going?" I asked confused "To watch a movie," "Cool." I said staring at the sandwich as he led us upstairs and to his room. He set the sandwich on his bed and walked over to the tv. Now's my chance. I reached down and grabbed the sandwich, took the biggest bite I could, and set it back down before he turned around. "There's a mirror" was all he said before he turned around and walked over. "Sorr-" I sajd before he started tickling me. I laughed as I tried to get away. I made it to the bathroom and closed the door. "Ha sucker" I yelled through the door "Come out baby girl, I just wanna talk" "Oh please like I haven't heard that before" I said rolling my eyes "Ok fine truce?" "Truce" I said opening the door and giving him a hug. We walked over to the  couch and he picked a movie.

I woke up to a sleeping Colby so I poked him. "wake up" I whispered still getting no response. I started to get up when I was pulled back down "no don't go it's too early" Colby said hugging me tighter. "it's 3 in the morning i was getting in the bed, this is uncomfortable" He nodded and groaned as he got up. We crawled into bed and he pulled me closer. "i love you" "and i love you."
