The Road Trip (Colby Brock)

Chapter 29

( Colby's POV )

We we're on the giant swing looking down at the ocean of people below us. I looked back over to y/n who was now looking up at the sky. God she was beautiful. She wasn't afraid of adventure and she treated me just like a normal human being, she didn't seem to care that I was "famous". Me and Sam didn't really consider ourselves famous, we we're still just two kids from Kansas at heart. Only difference was we had a platform and a ton of supporters. The ride started to slow down and we were lowered to the ground. "Ferris wheel?" y/n asked "Hell yeah" I said about to grab reach for her hand when a group of girls around 17 ran up to me. Y/n walked ahead of me so they wouldn't suspect anything. "Oh my God!! Hi Colby" one of the girls said "What's up?" "Can we get a picture? I love you" "Sure!" we took the picture and I hugged them "Thank you!" "You're welcome! Thank you guys too" I said as they ran off. I found y/n standing by a food cart "That was close" she said laughing "Yeah, sorry about that" "Don't be sorry I understand" "You're the best" I said grabbing her hand as she smiled at me. I loved it when she did that....I mean really liked. It was too early for that. We got on the ferris wheel and after a minute it started moving. The view was amazing, but it didn't compare to her. I looked over at y/n and she looked back at me. The ride stopped suddenly and we were stuck at the top. Her eyes got wide and she started laughing. "What's so funny?" I asked a little freaked out "I laugh when I'm nervous" she said a little shaky "Come here" I said scooting her a little closer and hugging her. "Heights aren't that bad, but the seat rocks back and forth" she said laughing again. The ride started moving again and it was smooth the rest of the way. "It's beautiful up here" she said looking down "Yea you are. I mean yea it is" I said laughing "You're corny" she giggled as she kissed my cheek "You missed" I said and she looked at me confused "See" I said before leaning in and kissing her. I felt her smile against my lips and pull back "Better?" she asked "Very."

We walked to the food trucks after the ride stopped. "Can I get some deep fried oreos and a deep fried snickers?" y/n asked the guy at the window "Sure thing princess" he said winking "Back off buddy" I said clenching my jaw, she hugged my torso and kissed my cheek. "Right, sorry bout that, here ya go." I grabbed the food and we went to a small picnic table. "Holy shit I've missed these so much" she said stuffing an oreo in her mouth "Calm down, they aren't going anywhere" I laughed "They're going in my mouth"  "You got me. You wanna go somewhere after this?" "Like where?" she said with a mouthful of oreo. "Rooftop?" "As long as we don't get caught, I'm down" she said putting the last oreo in her mouth and wiping her fingers off with the napkin. We threw the trash away and walked out of the carnival back to the street shops. We walked around until I found a building that looked easy to get inside. I opened the door that read "Roof Access, Authorized Personnel Only Beyond This Point" and we started up the staircase. After a few minutes of quietly walking up the stairs, we made it. "I hate the stairs" y/n laughed trying to catch her breath "The view is amazing though" she said walking to the edge and sitting down. "I live for this kind of stuff, I'm glad I found someone else to do it with" "What about Sam?" she asked "Sam too, but not many people I know like this type of thing" "I love it, I like getting away from people and life for a little while. Especially at night time." she said laying back looking at the stars, I layed down pulling her closer and she cuddled into my chest. After a while she sat up and looked over at me for a second "What?" I asked "Nothin" she said then looked at the town below us. I walked up behind her and wrapped my arms around her waist. She turned around and wrapped her arms around my neck, I leaned down and kissed her nose "you missed" she said quietly before closing the space between us. I pulled her closer and sher laced her fingers through my hair. I pulled back and kissed all over her face then pecked her lips one last time as she giggled "You're a goober" she laughed "You're a goofy goober" I said letting her go and grabbing her hand "I'm a tired goober" she said. We went back down to the street and headed to the hotel room. When we got there she changed into my clothes and I changed into joggers, it was hot so I didn't bother with a shirt. I got in the bed beside her and she cuddled into my side as I played with her hair. She put on a random movie and traced my tattoo until she fell asleep. "goodnight babygirl, i love you" I said quietly and kissed her forehead. Maybe it was too soon, but I had never felt this way about anyone before. Plus she was asleep, so maybe it didn't even count. I fell asleep not long after the movie ended. One more week.
