Woah, we're at chapter 19 already?! I don't think it's healthy how much of this I've written since last Friday. I'm so obsessed!
Hehe, enjoy!

Ayame walked along with a smile. She tugged Shikamaru's jacket around her shoulders, walking alongside the Nara. He'd offered to walk her home, and it made her quite happy. It wasn't as happy as she felt when Sasuke walked her home, but it was close enough.
When they reached the gate leading into Ayame's front garden, she turned to smile at him. "Thanks a lot for walking me home, Shika," she said softly, a small smile on her lips.
"No problem." Shikamaru smiled back in response. "Did you have fun?"
She laughed. "I did. I think I kind of understand what fun means now."
"Good. Look, I...I had a great time today, too. Thanks for coming," Shikamaru said awkwardly, rubbing the back of his neck.
"Why are you saying this to me? The others made you happy, too," Ayame was playing the oblivious card.
"Well, I'm saying it because..." He took a deep breath. "I like you, Ayame, and you being there made it better than it would have been if you weren't there."
Ayame smiled coyly. "What are you saying, Shika?" She asked, her head falling to the side in question.
"I'm saying..." Shikamaru sighed. "Ugh, I'm done talking. Can I show you instead?"
She frowned. "Show me?" She repeated, before she realised he was leaning towards her.
Did she want this? Did she? She had been trying to convince herself she did all day, but thinking on it now...she felt as if she really didn't. It Shikamaru kissed her now, she'd feel as if she was betraying Sasuke, even if he'd made it clear there was nothing between them. She didn't want this, yet a small, smart part of her did. This would be her escape from Sasuke. She wouldn't have to chase after him anymore; she would have Shikamaru, and she wouldn't need Sasuke and his constantly-shifting attitudes.
She remained still as Shikamaru moved closer, and eventually let her eyes close over when he got close enough. If anything positive came out of her kisses with Sasuke - other than wild impulses and odd heart speeds - it would be experience. At least she knew how to kiss someone properly now.
The kiss never came. Instead, her eyes snapped open when she heard a shout of surprise in Shikamaru's voice.
Her eyes were wide as she saw in Shikamaru's previous position now stood Sasuke, and a shiver of fear ran up her spine as he let out a feral, possessive growl low in his throat. His arm had wound around her waist, and when she followed his crimson gaze, she saw Shikamaru had been tossed across the road as if he were nothing but a doll.
"Shika!" She cried, and fought to get out of Sasuke's grip. If anything, his grip tightened, both of his arms securely wrapping around her waist. "Let go of me!" She fought to free herself, but he wouldn't let her go.
"Stop fighting!" He hissed, turning his glare down on her.
"Get off me!" She placed her hands in his shoulders, pushing with all her might. He didn't budge an inch. "Let go!"
"Ayame, stop fighting!" He repeated, gripping her tighter.
"Let go!" She cried, before turning to look at Shikamaru, who was now slowly pushing himself to his feet. The side of his head had a layer of blood on it, as if he'd hit his head. "Shika, are you okay?"
"W-What are you...?" Shikamaru mumbled with wide eyes. "How the hell did you do that?"
Sasuke did nothing but growl at the Nara. His eyes narrowed at him, and there was obvious hate held in the ruby colour of his eyes.
