The Shower
"Avinash! Avinash, come here the shower isn't working" Amelia yelled from the bathroom, calling Avinash. She twisted the knob a number of times but it didn't start. She irritatedly started twisting the shower tap continuously.
"I just showered, it was working by then" Avinash came into the bathroom.
"You think I'm lying!?" Amelia was exasperated.
"I did not say that!"
"You meant that"
"I did not"
"YOU DID IT"
"You are twisting my words"
"No, I am not"
"I did not forget it, let me check the shower"
Avinash went and stood below the shower, beside Amelia. Even after numerous attempts, the shower didn't start working, which angered Amelia more. She clutched the dress she was about to wear after the shower.
Avinash heard a faint knocking at the door which kept increasing and becoming louder and louder. Avinash thought of calling someone for help. He decided to shoo away the person at the door and call a plumber.
"Who is it now!?" Amelia groaned. Avinash was about to leave the shower but as his hand slowly slipped off the tap, the shower suddenly started working and pouring cold water. Both of them were drenched from head to toe.
Avinash stepped out of the shower gasping for air as the sudden cold water startled him. He ran to open the door as the knocking didn't stop. He opened the door to see Asher standing there, only wearing his shorts.
Asher had always shown off his sculpted chest and perfect body, but today he did to show Avinash down in front of Amelia solely. He had done this many times but every time it was either to show off or give Avinash a message that he was better than him.
Avinash, however, stopped making excuses for him and stopped giving him chances. He slowly understood everything, Asher had done to him. He did not want to fight. He just gave up on his half brother.
"You were bathing in your suit?" Asher raised one of his eyebrows giving him a confused look. Avinash didn't know what to say.
"I - uh - Actually"
"Where is Amelia?"
Asher heard the bathroom shower running and his eyes widened in realisation. He understood that Amelia and Avinash were bathing, together.
"She- um-"
"AVINASH COME HERE" Amelia yelled from the bathroom. Avinash had forgotten that he left a surprised Amelia under the broken shower alone.
"I will come after some time" Asher awkwardly spoke and left the shower. Avinash wanted to clear Asher's misunderstanding but he didn't stop him. He was not answerable to Asher. Asher didn't deserve any answers.
