The Parents
Amelia was ignoring her loudly ringing phone. The present-day, she was sitting in her cabin to work instead of working with Avinash. She was trying to get her feelings right and thinking about Malini's words. Thankfully, Avinash didn't question her much about her conversation with his Nani or anything.
Amelia closed the file angrily and took her phone to see who was calling her. It was her sister, Ivy. Ivy was calling her. She accepted the call.
"Hello"
"Hey, sis!" Ivy said from the other side. She seemed to be happy and cheerful.
"Why did you call?" Amelia was suspicious like always. She knew not to trust her sister because it has never helped her.
"What no 'how are you' or 'are you doing well?" Ivy mocked.
"I don't have time for this Ivy" She didn't. She still had to think and overthink every possible scenario and conversation with everyone. Also, she had to ponder over messed up herself and her feelings. She was busy.
"Come on Amy"
"Ivy" She warned her sister to come to the point.
"Okay, Mom and Dad are having a party and they asked me to invite you"
"Party? For what?"
"You will know when you come, don't forget to bring your fattie boi with you" Ivy again snickered.
"You-" She wanted to yell at her sister but Ivy had already hung up. Amelia already knew that she was not going to the party. She didn't want to meet those people.
She switched off her phone and drowned herself in the work. Slowly, she was developing habits like Avinash. She, just like him, started drowning herself into work to forget about her feelings and cope with them. She also started speaking some basic Hindi words and understanding some complex. She recently watched a Bollywood movie with Avinash.
She was peacefully ignoring every element when she heard the knocks at her door. She raised her head and furrowed her brows, thinking about who it might be. She didn't call anyone.
"Come in" The door opened to reveal a concerned and confused Avinash. Avinash sure didn't ask any question about Amelia's conversation with Nani but was concerned as he could see her behaviour changing. It turned hot and cold.
Amelia would sometimes ignore him like a plague but, at the very next moment come to hug him or do something that would make him believe that she was okay. However, every night, Amelia loved to hold him as her big teddy bear and cuddle him to sleep.
