Sometimes I wonder if my efforts will be seen through. Will they shine as brightly as the light cutting through darkness; like the moon illuminating the night sky? Or will my actions of goodness be seen as a flame of a candle and be blown out by rejection and into total darkness?
As we walked, Togata made a call to Sir Nighteye notifying him of our encounter with this Chisaki Kai person. Izuku and I were walking side by side. I was silent the whole time as Izuku was telling me what how he and Togata encountered Chisaki.
"You're worried about seeing Sir Nighteye, right?" Izuku's comment made me anxious.
I sighed, "I... no. Okay, a little. Fine, yes I am. He must know who I am and considering I helped indirectly end All Might's hero days, his former sidekick would be strange not to hate me. I'd hate me."
"Don't say that." Izuku shook his head. "He's strict but he's a kind person."
"You told me how he reacted with OFA, imagine how he'd react towards me." I rubbed my arms.
"You're a good person [Name]. I'm sure he'll see that. A lot of heroes do."
"I guess you're right. I'm just... afraid."
His expression turned one to shock and pain. "What are... you afraid of?"
Besides losing Hiro, and the fearful memories I possess, "Rejection. It's always been rejection because it can often lead to abandonment."
Time Skip~We arrived at the meeting place. Given how nervous I was, Izuku thought it would help ease my nerves by having me wait a few feet away to give him time to bring me into the conversation. And I'll say, I'm really thankful for it.
Togata was speaking with a tall man with glasses and a girl with blue colored skin. I listened in as they spoke about mysterious masked man.
"Actually..." Togata began to elaborate, "We have new intel to report! Chisaki has a daughter."
"A daughter..." Sir Nighteye spoke. His tone of voice making me believe he didn't know.
"Her name is Eri." Izuku added into the conversation. He began saying how wished he could've saved her and that he tried to but things didn't work out.
Sir Nighteye didn't take his words too greatly and considered them arrogant. He claimed it was better to make a plan rather than act impulsively; unfortunately, a part I disagreed since I knew very well that any chance of escape was better than no chance at all.
"You two return to the office. You're done for today." He told Togata and Izuku.
"Before we do that, there's someone here who wanted to add to our intel. She also had an encounter with Chisaki and was able to have a full conversation with him." Togata explained to Sir Nighteye.
"Oh? And who may that be?"
I was beckoned by Togata and I inhaled deeply and took a step forward; meeting Sir Nighteye and Bubble Girl formally.
"You're—" Sir Nighteye's yellow eyes slightly widened.
"Hello, pardon my intrusion. I'm [Name]. [L/name] [Name]. It's nice to meet you." I spoke steadily but I was utterly nervous.
Sir Nighteye remained quiet for quite some time. I had no idea what he was thinking. His face expression was unreadable and his tone was the same as he used for Izuku. "Right, you're the famous [Name], the mysterious girl with her younger brother many have spoken about."
