I guess I had no choice.

So, I stepped in but instead of turning on the machine, I slipped and fell over a wire that was attached to the floor. I tried to pick myself up and everything was going fine until my hand hit a seemingly metallic object just above one of the handlebars I was using to stand up. When I looked over though, I realized that what I was looking at wasn't a metal object at all and that's when it happened.

What happened next caught me completely off guard

Instead of having painless lasers shoot through me, I could feel a slight stinging sensation as they broke through my skin

I tried not to flinch or shout or anything because I wanted to get an A on this project

After a while, the whole thing eventually stopped and I walked out

"And that, is our project

"Nice very nice

"Well, seeing as how everything went according to plan, I'm going to give you all an A

"Oh, yes! We high fived each other, then left class

"See, I told you guys that went well, and you doubted me, you know you should listen to me

When I have something to say because I can (trails off)

"Zayne, Zayne! Wait up!"

Olivia caught up to me and decided to walk by my side on my way out of class

"Hey, so great today, huh?

"Yeah, I can't believe we actually got an A on the project

"Yeah, I know right. I'm glad I helped, someone needs to be the know-it-all of the group and I'm that girl

"Yeah, you sure are. Hey, I'm just wondering; how did you make those lasers sting my skin

"Sting your skin?

"Yeah, I was in the device, and the lasers felt like they were piercing my skin."

"Oh yeah, that. Don't worry about that. We wanted to make the lasers be as bright as possible just to be sure that the class would be able to see them clearly. Sometimes, lasers can leave an after effect and feel like they can sting. You shouldn't worry about it too much." Olivia lied.

As bad as Olivia felt for lying, she didn't want to worry Zayne

"Thanks, Olivia."

I took this advice and thought nothing of it until the next week...

I started noticing a number of peculiar things happening to me; whenever I brushed my teeth, I noticed my teeth seemed to look sharp, almost fang-like. Whenever I sat down, I could feel almost a rope of fur that seemed to brush up in between my legs. And then whenever I looked at myself in the mirror at night, I noticed that my eyes had changed from their natural green emerald color to glowing light blue orbs.

Between myself and I, I was deciding whether I should keep this a secret, or tell the others. Me being me, I chose the lather.

The following day, I was sitting at lunch.

"And then, this guy just comes up and asks me-"

Olivia was in the middle of telling a joke when I suddenly decided to leave

"Hey Zayne, where are you going?"

I couldn't take it, I felt so nervous about coming out about the situation, I had to go to the hallway to think things through

They, however, seemed to know where I was because the next thing I knew, I was being questioned on my absence.

"Hey Zayne, we came by because we wanted to know what's going on"

"Yeah, you seem distant lately. Are you ignoring us or something?"

Guess there was no point in hiding now

"Okay fine, I'll tell you, but if I tell you guys, you have to promise not to tell anyone else."

"Okay, we promise."

"When I stepped into the...."

"The hadron collider?

"Yeah, that.. it changed me ..to this."

Then, I transformed myself... into a werewolf.
