After that odd and mildly strange announcement, Cassidy and I exchanged confused looks before noticing that a whole stampede of students were running straight towards the middle of the hallway.

From a standpoint, it did seem a bit absurd. I mean, we are being told to climb through the ceiling after all. It's not exactly the most common way of traveling through a building and it's definetly not something you would see every day. Although, if you've ever been to a school like mine, I'm afraid that I can't say the same thing. If you've ever been to a school like this one, then you would know a thing or two about traveling; it's that you should always expect the unexpected..oh wait, or maybe that only applies to my school considering the fact that just about everything here seems unexpected. There was just one problem; Cassidy feared heights and I knew that. Just how do they expect us to get to class if she can't even look below without feeling like the ground is spiraling out of control? I had to think of something and quick.

"Zayne, how are we supposed to get to class? Climbing isn't exactly my thing. I mean you must know that I'm not the best climber. You must have seen me climbing the tight rope thousands of times in gym class, right??" Cassidy exclaimed, forcing me to think of a plan to find another way out.

Cassidy did have a point, and knowing her take on heights, I knew that the only way that I could get her to stop being afraid was if she climbed the ladder. If she did that, she would want to do it again and no longer avoid tall and dangerous-looking objects. On the other hand, I could be wrong. After all, we're not talking about just about anyone. We're talking about Cassidy, and Cassidy isn't an "anyone." She's a Cassidy. Even if she did climb, I knew that she wouldn't gain recontrol of her balance the moment she steps foot onto the ladder. She wouldn't even be able to gain control of her balance under the simplest circumstances. Knowing her, I guess the only thing I can say is; that's Cassidy for you.. did I mention she's blonde?

As we stood there, Cassidy and I couldn't help but just look at the middle of the hallway where a herd of students were gathering

We looked on until someone (the principle) came with this long ladder to set it against the ceiling.

"We're not really going there, are we?"

I looked at the crowd, then looked back at the cafeteria, then back to the crowd

"No, we're not." I said before taking Cassidy by her arm then running

If we were going any way, we were going my way..and I knew the way. As we approached the wall between the cafeteria and the gym, I made my way towards the same place that I saw before I saw Cassidy. It was the same square-shaped door that I saw last time

"We're going..here!"

Then, I ripped off the door from the vent.

"Zayne! what are you doing?!.."

"What does it look like I'm doing? I'm opening this vent."

"but wait! for what?!"

"So that we can finally get to class."

"What?? Through there?!"

"Of course we're gonna go through there. Where else did you expect us to go? Through the floor?"

"Well, no...but are you sure this is safe? Have you ever done this before?"

"Well, not exactly.. "

"then how can you be so sure? How can you be sure that this is perfectly safe?"

"Well, the principle said that there is a slide on the other end of the wall, right?"

"Well, yeah.."

"The principle also told everyone to go in the middle of the hall way to climb through the ceiling. And, if you haven't noticed, there is, in fact, a whole lot of people gathering in the center of the hallway. If we go there, we could get stuck and the whole place could get very crowded very fast, which will slow us down. This wall is connected to the same wall as the ceiling so we should be able to get to the slide either way.  And since it's not as crowded as the ceiling, it should take us to class. Theoretically, this should work."

"Wait! That still doesn't answer my question! How do you know that this is safe? How can I be sure that nothing will happen to either of us?"

...."I just need to know."

From a theoretical standpoint, Cassidy was right. The walls within this tunnel weren't exactly built to perfection. They don't even look sturdy enough to hold a stack of books, much less two human beings. But then again, this tunnel does seem like it could work..

I said the only thing that was on my mind, the one thing that could persuade Cassidy enough to come along..

"Trust me..."
