After a few moments of not saying anything, Blade decided to give his input.

"Guys, look, I know this plan may sound crazy and insane, but the only thing that this machine will do is change the way Zayne looks."

"Change the way Zayne looks? Blade, your machine looks like the hadron collider." Olivia deadpanned

"Yeah, so?" Blade asked, nonchalantly

"So?? Blade, this machine looks like it could do so much more than just change how someone looks and you're acting as if you're pulling some harmless prank. I mean, doesn't that seem just a bit absurd?"

Olivia was expecting to hear some kind of long-winded explanation, but all she got was a scoff from Blade

"Blade, I'm serious. This machine looks like it could do some serious damage. As much as I could see that you've spent a generous amount of time drawing out this plan, there is still no way that we would ever help you out. Now, what  do you have to say for yourself?"

"I'm sorry, how about if I give you guys something in return?"

"Oh what? So, now you're gonna bribe us into helping you out?" Eric added

"Pshh, yeah right." Emma said, sarcastically

"I'm serious. If we build this thing together, I will do the rest of your homework for the rest of the semester."

Olivia knew it just didn't seem like the right thing to do and neither did anyone else. She had to say something.

"Look Blade, I know what you're trying to do, but it's not gonna work. Zayne our my friend, and nothing will change that. We're not gonna do something behind his back and I'm especially not gonna help you out just so you could hurt Zayne because you told me you could do my homework for the rest of the semester. First of all, I could care less about the homework or anything else for that matter. Second, I care more about Zayne's safety than anything else, so get that through your head."

Blade looked like he was seriously thinking it over. "Is that your final answer?"

"Yeah, there's absolutely nothing you will say or do that could change our minds." Olivia replied, as a matter of factly

"Very well." Blade replied

"However, I do have to say one more thing."

Well, so much for hope. Now, the whole group was interested in what Blade had to say next.

"If you do help me, that would be great. But, if you don't, that's fine too. I just wanted you guys to know what would happen if you don't help me out. If you do, I promise that I will do your homework. But, if you don't, there might be consequences; I'll take you all to evergreen, then force you to swim in the river... with the sharks."

The whole group was so shocked, that not one person really knew what to say.

"You wouldn't dare." Olivia spoke up

"You wouldn't want to try me." Bade replied, giving her a comeback

"Now, I have this sheet of paper in front of me that has includes all of the details that I have for my plan, what kind of things you'll be given from me if you participate, and the things that will be taken away if you don't. If you look close enough, you could see that I left some space at the bottom of the page for everyone to sign their names. You may choose whichever line you want and the rules will apply."

For a moment, no one did anything but held their breath as they looked at the sheet of paper right in front of them. It didn't seem right. Nothing about this seemed right. On one hand, nobody wanted to see Zayne get hurt. On the other hand, everyone seemed more anxious about getting punished for not participating. That would surely hurt Zayne even more but would that mean participating in Blade's plan hurt him less? It sure seemed like it would. Without a second thought, everyone picked up their pens and signed off their names. It would be crazy to participate in Blade's plan and let Blade get away with this. At the same time, it would be even worse to let Zayne down. Without hesitation, everyone knew where to sign immediately. Right next to the words that say "Participating," three names have been written in blue ink.

On one hand, Olivia knew that she was only doing it for Zayne's own good. On the other hand, she still couldn't help but feel guilty.

By the end of that morning, there was one thought that was left on everyone's mind:

What have we gotten ourselves into?
