I layed in bed that night, with a basketball in my hand and threw it against the wall while in deep thought

I heard a knock on my door

"Can I come in?

"You're sure in deep thought, everything alright?

"Its nothing, just had this talk with one of my friends and she told me that my friends will have my back even when it seems like they won't. Just trying to figure out what it means

"I know where you're coming from, I used to be where you are right now. And here's another thing; you know you can come to me if you ever feel like you want to talk about anything. I want you to feel like you can trust me. Your mom and I had never been more proud of you and I want you to know that, okay?

"Thanks, dad."

"Sure thing, now get some sleep."

I was in my last class for the day; geometry. I was staring at the clock, just waiting for the minutes to go by, so that we could go to Blade's place

I was walking to my locker, when Olivia came out of nowhere

"Hey, I was wondering, since we're all driving ourselves, do you want to ride with me?

"Yeah, that would actually be great

"Awesome, then my car is parked-

Cassidy; "Yes! Then, we can all ride together! Wouldn't that be fun??

We were driving until we came to Blade's house

Man, Blade's house sure is huge

Yeah, his parents are pretty rich, that's why his house is so big

During the setup, the group aready knew what they were doing, so I didn't have to do a whole alot and they still gave me credit, which was so nice

"Alright everyone, I feel like this could be the project of a lifetime, jokes on them if this doesn't get an A."

We high five each other and it was almost time to bring to project to school

The next day, I made sure to set my alarm an hour early to help Blade, Olivia, Emma, and Cassidy and carry the project outside because it was too big to fit inside the classroom

We were carrying our project to the school yard, when Olivia asks us out of the blue

I turned to Olivia and asked, "you made sure to figure everything out, right?

"Yeah, of course. There's nothing that I could have left out

Feeling a bit relieved, it was almost time for our turn to present

"Blade's group, you're up

"Thanks, Ms.P

"What a lovely project you have, do you mind explaining what it is and what it's supposed to do? After you reveal it, of course

"Sure, sure. Well, we were sitting down, wondering what it would mean to design something that presents animals, when we thought of the most genius idea;

Under this cloth, you'll find the one and only machine that does just that

Blade uncovers the machine, revealing it in its entirety

"Is that the hadron collider?"

Yes! I mean no.

No, it's not the hadron collider. The hadron collider works with protons, neutrons, electrons, and whatever else is going on in there

"This, right here, is a machine that can make anyone believe that you can turn into whichever animal you like, but you don't and that's the beauty of it. That's why it's called make-believe

"You see all those buttons lined up on the walls? Each one has an image of an animal. You step in, painless lasers shoot at your skin, and a hologram of that animal appears on top of the machine

"Amazing. Zayne, why don't you demonstrate for us?

"Yeah Zayne, why don't you go in there and demonstrate it?

"Uuh, oh, well, I

I was going to protest when I saw everyone looking at me encouragingly.

Olivia, on the other hand, seemed tense but she smiled at me anyway, as if encouraging me to go in.
