It hadn't been a great day for Aries.

First, he finds out that..monster has done a kill in his part of the city. Immediate action was taken. He HAS to be stopped at all costs before another innocent life was taken.

After that entire fiasco, he spilled his piping hot coffee onto his hands, causing a slew of cursing to be heard all around the break room. At least he was very lucky that his sleeves were up at that time.

Yeah, not an exciting day so far, so Aries didn't really expect much good to come out of it for the rest of the day either.

But to be completely honest, he didn't know what he should had been expecting when she knocked on his office door.

Another report about another case solved?

Another complaint about the rowdy, new officers in the station?

What he certainly was not anticipating was a pale, and slightly angry, looking Virgo calmly slamming down an orange envelope onto his desk. Aries set down the pen he was writing with, careful to not jostle the bandages too much, and gazed his concerned look onto the head detective's face.

"Virgo? What do I owe you the pleasure of meeting me at this time?"

She huffed before dragging herself a chair from the side of the office and plopping herself down in it. Her hands dragged the envelope towards him, indicating that it was for him.

"Nothing sir."

Aries' eyes widened in shock as he picked up the thin sheath. The head detective NEVER called him chief unless she was in a bad mood. He gulped mentally. He's going to have to be very careful with his words if they were to have a conversation.

Steeling all  of his nerves and hoping for the best outcome, he began to talk.

"So how have you been?"

Aries started off with a simple conversational start. You know, just keep the air light and get Virgo talking to get some of her mind off of whatever happened in her office. Who knows, maybe this will keep his mind off of him as well.

The orange envelope in his hands could wait a few more minutes.

"I have been doing well, thank you for asking. How about you sir?"

"I have also been doing well."

Awkward silence filled the air as Aries gently placed the orange envelope to the side and maintained eye contact with Virgo. A staring contest happened unknowingly, and surprisingly, Virgo blinked and looked away first.

"Look Aries. I don't want to take up too much of your time here, but Ophiuchus came to see me yesterday morning" she hissed out, clenching her hands into fists.

Shock once again settled on Aries' face.

"Ophiuchus? As in the currently youngest billionaire?"

Virgo nodded, her gaze never straying from the orange envelope she had brought in.

"He wanted us to find some...thing that he lost."

Aries was confused. A case as simple as this did not need to be brought upon his attention, yet Virgo came to him in person.

"Well, did he specify?"

With this, Virgo immediately scoffed and turned her head away and towards the pen on Aries' desk.

"No."

"What?"

"Exactly. He didn't tell me what. Just told me what he needed and used my shock to manipulate me into forcing me to accept the case. I have to call them in a day to tell them whether..."

A sudden mood change happened as some sort of realization dawned upon Virgo. The fury no longer habited her face as a sense of dread washed over Aries.

"...we will accept this case or not."

It took a moment for the words to settle into Aries' mind.

"We?"

Gray eyes finally met his, an incredulous and excited look in their depths.

"Yes. You, Libra, and Gemini, and I will ALL do this case if we agree."

Bewildered, Aries blinked a couple times before he managed to spill some words out of his mouth.

"Apologies Virgo, but could you please explain?"

Chuckling, the detective began to stand up.

"Chief Aries, Mr. Ophiuchus came to me personally to tell me about this case. Libra and Gemini are the best detectives in our division, and I am certain the case with the murder of the man Libra was in control of has already been reported and wrapped up. Gemini will be protective of me, and having an extra hand will certainly provide more brain. But if we ever need to defend ourselves, Libra is the only person who is able to do martial arts, while Gemini and I only know the most simplistic defense moves."

"I understand Virgo that Libra and Gemini will certainly assist you well, but I am not a detective. I am a chief."

"Exactly."

By this time Virgo was pacing in front of Aries' door.

"Aries, YOU are the only one in this station that people will listen to other than me. Since Libra, Gemini, and I are ALL some of the best detectives in the city, and I fear that we will be bound to discover something we should best not know."

Before Aries could get another word out, Virgo abruptly left his office, shoes quietly clacking down the hall, leaving a lot of confusion and worry behind her.

I have an okay feeling with this chapter. I realized that I never really fully grasped the personalities I wanted with each character. I'm trying my best to really make each zodiac stand out, but I'm just not feeling the differences much myself.

Thanks for reading!
