Now this chapter is where the REAL plot begins ;)
Chapter Four Summary:
A man in a neon yellow construction outfit walks into an abandoned apartment building. He goes into room 415 to retrieve a suitcase given from Pisces. Since the man knows what is inside the suitcase, he gets greedy and lunges for the case instead of waiting for further instructions. He knows that Pisces is always watching, yet he grabbed for the case anyway. Pisces stabs his back through the stomach, laughs mechanical laughter, and disappears.
"Hey, Virgo? There's a man that would like to speak with you," Gemini called out, poking her head around the frame of the open door. Loose strands from her tied up blonde hair with dark blue tips swayed slightly from the wind made from the air conditioner. Virgo adjusted her reading glasses as she looked up from her computer, eyebrows furrowed in confusion.
"Who would want to see me on an early Thursday morning?"
Gemini shrugged. "Apparently some man with these annoying black sunglasses he won't take off is standing at the receptionist desk asking for the Head Detective here. He has some really dark purple hair." Then she narrowed her eyes. "He acts like he is in a hurry, all nervous and such, yet I can see the confidence dripping off of him. He's really suspicious Vee, are you sure you'll be fine? I can ask-"
Virgo raised a hand, stopping the other woman as a soft smile graced her normally hard features. "I appreciate your concern Gem, but I know how to protect myself." The words and others now were left hanging in the air. Gemini sighed. "Fine. But I be in the room in front. When do you want the man to come in?"
Virgo checked her watch. Her files were due in five hours, but she was almost finished with the work.
"He can come in now."
Gemini nodded and left the room, footsteps echoing down the hall towards the front desk. Virgo started putting her papers away, tucking them into file cabinets and drawers while waiting for the man to come. A quick click from a minuscule, white controller turned the soft humming down a notch and it eventually faded into the background. Soon enough, two sets of footsteps echoed towards her office.
Virgo looked up just in time to see one of the tallest man she has ever seen. A shocking five foot and eleven inches, this person towered over her small frame of five feet and three-and-a-half inches.
"Hello, sir," she said calmly while standing up to give the man a handshake. Her entire arm was practically raised sky high. Thankfully he got the message as shook Virgo's hand at a lower level. Darn her short genes. A close up of the man's face, even though his eyes were completely obscured by the darkest sunglasses only found on security guards, made a small sense of familiarity overcome her, like she has seen this man's face and combed hair somewhere else before. Pushing the fact back in her mind, Virgo waved a hand towards the slightly plush chair in front of her desk and began.
"Hello sir, what brings you here into the Celestial Police Station on this fine Thursday morning?"
The man chuckled as he settled down and leaned his elbows on the armrests. Simple clothes obviously not worn often, he seems very unused to them and is fidgeting only just slightly. Virgo could see Gemini's blond hair from the corner of her green eyes hesitating in front of the door before closing it with a soft click.
"Hello, I deeply apologize for the intrusion so early in the day Ms. Virgo," his deep silky voice bounced around the small office space. A queasy feeling suddenly rippled in her stomach. This person was dangerous. Slightly narrowing her eyes, she continued to lightly analyze the man. Where had she heard this voice before? "but I am in true need of your detective skills."
Weird, he hasn't taken his glasses off yet.
A welcoming smile plastered onto her face, but her eyes told a slightly different story. Unease started to spread around harder and faster. And bear in mind, Virgo was not an easily spooked person. Detective work requires full concentration, so all revolting smells and views in a crime scene were ignored. So why did this man scare her so much? Was it his fake nervousness and confident aura?
"Oh?" She leaned in just a slight bit closer. "What do you need help with?" She saw the smallest hint of a grin spread over the man's face as he too, leaned in closer. Virgo was suddenly very thankful her wooden desk was between her and this mysterious man who had yet to introduce himself.
"Well my case isn't a very big one, I just need help finding some...thing. Something very important to me."
Virgo raised an eyebrow. Clients coming into this station usually do not specifically ask the Head Detective to find something for them. Libra is usually the one that takes up those tasks, and if Gemini was bored of interrogating, she would do some as well. But never Virgo. Virgo had paperwork to fill, reports to write, and no time to accept small and simple cases such as searching.
The man seemed to notice her confusion and suspicion but gave her time to gather together her inner turmoil. Virgo avoided looking at the man and opted to stare on the wooden streaks across her desk. Of course she knew that this was probably very rude, but it helped her think better. Her elbows propped up and fingers lightly crossed, she thought about it. A man needed her help with a case. The case was that he needed to find something important. This object must've been absolutely cardinal for him to even think about asking her. She met the eyes of the man once again and began to open her mouth to speak, but he beat her to it.
"I'll be paying you two million dollars to find what I need."
Eyes widened and her mouth dropped open further as Virgo's entire body froze in shock. Two million dollars. TWO MILLION DOLLARS. Just to find something important to the man. But what if this was a scam? What if he was lying? No one could risk that much money unless they were...
If possible, Virgo's eyes widened even further as she snapped her neck up to deeply analyze the man in front of her. Dark purple combed neatly. Pale, fair skin. Unused clothes. Faint whiffs of cologne, obviously hastily covered up. Tall, five foot eleven.
"You're Ophiuchus." She whispered in awe.
And introducing, Ophiuchus!
I haven't decided any ships yet, but if there are some you would like to see, feel free to tell me either on my profile or in the comments below. :)
