Tick.
Tock.
Tick.
Tock.
Dark silhouettes of two human beings, both seemingly males, stood out inside of a dark room. One sat in a chair in front of a laptop, and the other was slightly further away, sitting in what seems like a giant throne with many strings decorating its exterior. An old clock could be barely seen on the wall, the constant ticking and tocking coming from its moving pendulum. The one in the chair didn't move, and the only signs of life from one in front of the laptop was the unceasing and near silent taps from the keyboard.
Tick.
Tock.
Click, clack, click, clack.
Footsteps were moving closer and closer.
The dimly lit computer was the only light in the otherwise pitch black room.
Tick.
Click.
Tock.
Clack.
The silent click of a well oiled door. A woman's voice resounded loudly and clearly in the room.
"Sir, the Secretary would like to inform you that the detective has called."
Ophiuchus hummed, and his eyes never strayed from the screen of his computer. Silence lingered in the air for a couple seconds before he opened his mouth.
"Well? What did she say?"
"She said she'll take the case."
The tapping stopped for a split second before resuming. A satisfied smirk could be barely seen forming on his face.
"Perfect. Now that that is done, please tell the Janitor to get rid of that body soon, for it is starting to reek. Make sure they clean up the chair as well, I wouldn't want... a repeat of what happened last time."
The woman bowed.
"I will call the Janitor right away sir."
With a small click, the room was set into darkness once more, with only a corpse and a busy billionaire inside.
I'm so sorry for the late and short chapter!
I've been spending most of February on my other zodiac story, trying to think up of some original and interesting backstories for each of my heroes and villains. TwT
How are people so creative with their good backstories?!
But anyway, I'll be resuming my normal schedule starting this month.
