"Ah, as expected of the best and most quick-witted detective in all of Estrella. You looked through my disguise quite quickly."
Silky dark purple locks, smoothed back by a small amount of hair gel, rippled slightly as Ophiuchus grabbed and ripped off the dark sunglasses adorning his face. He smiled a bright business smile at Virgo with sparkling green eyes, who felt a faint chill rush down her spine. All the previous awe she had felt vanished quite quickly. Something felt terribly wrong here. Maybe it was the air conditioner?
Sneaking a quick peak, she checked the temperature of the air cooling system.
77 degrees Fahrenheit.
So it wasn't the air conditioning.
Turning back, Virgo readied her response. But she tensed up again at this chilling business smile on his face.
"W-well," she stuttered before quietly clearing her throat, words spilling mindlessly out of her mouth, "May I discuss this case with my chief first?"
Of course, Virgo knew that it was her responsibility to take up cases, but surely Aries would understand why this one would be an exception.
If possible, Ophiuchus's smile became brighter and a little bit more menacing.
"Of course you may."
A couple seconds passed in slightly awkward silence, the only sounds were the wind whistling through the air conditioner. Virgo didn't know what to say next. It was like some kind of pressure has been pushed into her mind at the presence of the youngest billionaire alive, preventing any thoughts from forming.
The sudden screech of a chair being pushed back jolted Virgo out of her internal panic. A flash of gold on Ophiuchus' wrist caught her attention before his sleeve covered it back up again. A watch perhaps?
"Well Ms. Virgo, I think you and your chief should contemplate my case. It isn't going to be easy, but please call this number when you are willing to uptake this search. I shall w-tell my secretary that you will be dialing in," he hummed a little, "Are you fine with two days?" Virgo mindlessly and numbly nodded. The smile on his face didn't waver before he continued, "In two days time. Thank you for your time Ms. Virgo."
With that, he placed the sunglasses back onto his face and walked smoothly out of the office door, closing it with a small click.
To anyone who didn't study the human emotions and body movements, one would have thought that this was a friendly conversation between a billionaire and a quite famous detective.
To Virgo, who has been studying the human posture and voice for around six and a half years already, figured out that the friendly mask was a fraud. As for the case given, Virgo had later realized when Ophiuchus had long walked out of the police station, there was little to no information on what he asked the police to find.
No description, no possible areas for them to investigate, no possible suspects if the could be object stolen.
He had left her nothing to work with.
Gray eyes widened.
He tricked me.
Wow! I had so much fun writing this chapter. Please excuse the awful name I came up for the city.
The next chapter will reveal the next ship I will be writing.
I realize that these chapters may be a little off centered from the actual plot, but I am a slow writer that likes detail so...please bear with my awful planning skills. I think I'll be bringing back the talk about Pisces in the next chapter as well.
