As time passed on things were great. I had my children and Mal all with me in my life. The only thing left was to ask Mal's father for her hand in marriage. I was nervous because I wasn't the best man to Mal when we first got together.

I looked over at Mal and she smiled at me. Those eyes of pure love. She was in love with me and lord knows I was truly in love with her. Her body fell into my arms as I attacked her with kisses. It was beautiful. This feeling of love I never experienced was like a new high to me.
This was my family.
I had the woman I never wanted to let go. She was like finding gold deep beneath the grounds we walk on. She completed me.

When we arrived to her house, I helped Mal bring in the kids.
"Roman, how are you?"
"I'm doing good, I'm tired because the kids don't ever want to sleep." I joked.

Once we got settled in around the table, she had her family at the table. Her older brother and her identical twin sister. The easiest way to spot the two so far was weight. Mal had all the love handles I loved to grab and her sister was a lot thinner. But, when Mal first showed me a picture of the two of them together it was hard to tell which one was which. It was basically looking at the same person.

I grabbed my mother hand and she smiled at me. "Do you think I'm doing the right thing? We talked about it so much together for awhile now and my heart is little confused now..."
"That's ok...It happens because we get nervous and we began to doubt ourselves. Whenever you are ready to ask, you do it and you better stand on it."
"Thank you." I smiled and bringing everybody attention to me.

It was a beautiful speech to hear for the family, but it was most definitely the most satisfying thing in sight as I looked at Mal crying...tears of joy.
There was nothing to compare the feelings I had that moment. I grabbed Mal's hand and placed a small kiss on it before I looked her father in the eyes and asked, "Mr.Till, I'm asking for your permission for your daughters's hand in marriage."

It was a long, cold, silent stare. I stood on every word I said and I didn't break down my eye contact. I wanted him to know that Mal was going to be safe with me.

He stood up walking over to me and Mal.
"Stand up Mal." He said and they looked at each other. His face soften as he held her hand.
"Is this who you love truly? Is Roman somebody you really want to commit to? I don't want you to ever have go through what your ex-husband did to you. I'm sadden by your actions because you did not reach out to me for help. You didn't come to none of us. I have a shot gun waiting for any man to hurt my baby girls."
"Daddy, I'm sorry...I wanted to be independent especially since I left home at such a young age I didn't want to depend on you guys for anything."
"I was so upset you left, but I would have been there no matter what. Don't ever do that again....I love you." They hugged making Mal cry. She was always so sensitive, but that's what makes her amazing.

After that he looked at me and shook my hand pulling me up out the chair.
"You have my blessing. Take care of my baby girl for me." He smiled and walked back to the table.

A few weeks after of carefully planning my proposal, the time had come. I decided to drive her out to Texas and we would have our time there alone.

Texas had a lot land with flowers, trees, and little parks around which made it a perfect place for our Picnic date. Everything laid out so beautifully and we had our own space, therefore no interruptions.

"You look beautiful. I really like this dress you chose for our date."
"Aww thank you! I didn't know what to wear...All my clothes make me fat." She laughed.
"This is just baby fat from your tummy. You've been doing great getting back in shape. I never really cared though, cause I like it."
"You sure do know how to make me feel pretty even when I'm at my lowest. My confidence after having Nyla went down. I gained a lot."

I kissed her lips as I held her in my arms. "I love you Roman." She smiled.
"I love you more!"
"Says who?" She giggled taking my shades off looking me in the eyes. "I do."
I stood up as I reached for her hand helping her up. I held her in my arms and spun her around making us laugh. She kissed my lips and I broke the kiss away as I got down on one knee.

She knew exactly what I was going to ask her because she didn't even let me ask.
"Yes! Yes! I will!" She smiled looking down at me.
"Will you marry me, Mal?" I asked anyways watching her sob.
She shook her head and I placed the ring on her finger. I stood up kissing her lips as I wiped the tears from her face. I had a small speech I wanted to say, but Mal was overly excited. Which was fine because it saved me a lot time from having to write another speech for the actual wedding.

We spent the rest of the day on our high of love. A moment I wish I could just relive again. It was everything I wanted....But, I did not protect it.
