Next chapter up AFTER THE HOLIDAYS, JANUARY 7, 2022
3rd Person POV
When Brooklyn walks into the kitchen (alone since she put Maddie to bed) blue flames erupt around the ashy circle on the ground
"John." Sara exclaims, running over. "What happened down there?"
"I need a drink." Constantine says, pushing past the group
"No post-mission debrief?" Ava questions as Constantine leaves the room
Sara and Brooklyn share a look. Brooklyn shrugs as Sara supplies the answer of, "It's part of his process."

"And that is the truth of it, mateys." Constantine says, finishing his debrief for the group to hear. "Astra and this whole bloody mess is on me. And she can't be reasoned with. So we need a more permanent solution to stopping her or she could continue releasing souls indefinitely."
"Surely, Astra can change." Ray suggests. "She's still human, right? I mean, even a master of the dark arts must believe there's still some good left in her."
"Forget it, big man." Constantine tells him. "Astra's lust for power, it zapped the humanity out of her."
"Well, on the bright side, at least the encores aren't our fault this time." Sara announces to the group as Behrad and Nate high five
"Is there any point in sending these encores to Hell?" Ava questions. "It sounds like Astra would just send them straight back."
"Correct." Constantine says
"Well, then until we find a more permanent solution, we'll house the encores on the ship." Sara says
"We're gonna need a bigger pantry." Ray says, looking at the goo that was their last encore
Sara looks at Brooklyn, nodding for her to go with her into the hallway. The two girls leave the kitchen and the rest of the group. But Nate and Behrad run out after them
Behrad runs in front of the two, stopping them in the hallway. "Hey, Cap. Normally, I'd be all for rolling up my sleeves and pitching in, but I gotta take shore leave for my pop's birthday, and Nate's coming with me." Behrad says"I am?" Nate asks
"You are?" Sara asks
"My parents are always asking questions about my life." Behrad tells her. "He could pretend to be one of my biz school professors."
"I still can't believe that you haven't told your parents the truth about what you do." Sara says
"You mean that I'm a time traveling superhero who stole the family heirloom?" Behrad questions
Brooklyn and Sara share a look. "Hmm, yeah, you should probably stick to business school." Brooklyn tells him
"We'll be back before you can say timequake." Behrad says
"Don't jinx it." Sara mutters, closing her eyes as Behrad and Nate run down the hallway to leave
"Too late, Captain, a new timequake has been detected." Gideon announces. "You are needed on the bridge."
Sara sighs. "Come on, let's go." She tells Brooklyn and the two walk to the bridge. "What are we looking at?" Sara questions the group
"Ah, the epicenter of the timequake is in Los Angeles, 1947." Ava tells her
"It's the golden age of Hollywood and the height of organized crime in the city." Ray says
"The real golden age." Mick says
