Once they had returned to Coruscant, Jaia trudged back to her room, desperately needing solitude and solace. She was furious with Anakin, and yet, she felt guilt consuming her like a flame.

Sitting on her bed, Jaia closed her eyes tightly, folding her legs into a meditative position and reaching out to the force. Right now, meditation was necessary. I've broken so many rules, and it is the root of my trouble. Jaia was honest with herself, regardless of how foolish she felt. I know this is foolish- all of it. There's no positive ending and yet I can't stop. I care- I care too much.

How were the Jedi supposed to avoid this? It seemed an impossible feat to Jaia, and it had been that way as long as she remembered. How was one expected to grow up side by side with so many resilient, hardworking individuals and be expected not to form attachments?

Anakin was inevitable. He had been there from her late childhood, and there was no avoiding the strong friendship they formed that brought Jaia's heart to adore him. Obi Wan... however, was a different situation.

A situation she couldn't begin to understand if she tried.

The door to her room opened with a start, snapping Jaia out of her focus and startling her so that she backed up against the wall of her bed.

"You were meditating?" Anakin scoffed, "You've spent way too much time with him."

Jaia's chest burned at the sight of him. His eyes were cold, his posture stiff and uncomfortable, soaked with anger and jealousy. Widening her eyes, she frowned. "You're ridiculous."

"Am I?" Anakin paced in, slamming the door behind him, "I'm the ridiculous one?"

"Jealousy is driving you insane," Jaia spat, "Like you actually believe you own me or something-," Jaia stopped talking when an immense pressure built in her throat.

She couldn't breathe.

"Careful," Anakin was clenching his fist as he paced towards Jaia, now gasping for whatever air she could get. He was force choking her. Oh my god, Anakin was- "Wouldn't want to say something to make me angry, Jaia."

She didn't respond- mostly because she couldn't- but Jaia felt her body heat at Anakin's tone, his eyes peering into her with such power it was overwhelming. She couldn't breathe, but she wasn't sure she'd be able to even if he hadn't been force choking her.

"If I'm the ridiculous one," he started, releasing Jaia from his force grasp, immediately watching her gasp for air, "Tell me why you enjoyed that just now."

Jaia was still catching her breath, her cheeks burning red. "I didn't-,"

"What did you do with him?" Anakin lifted her chin up to speak directly to her eyes, and Jaia suddenly felt as though she were answering to a superior. Her stomach flipped.

"That's not information I'm going to share with you."

"It is," Anakin whispered, the calmness of his voice nearly scary. Gently coming to his knees in front of her, Anakin brushed a strand of hair out of Jaia's face as she continued her hateful stare. "You were right on the ship, Jaia. You can fuck whoever you want." Though the words came from Anakin, he didn't sound happy about it in the slightest. "So I want to know what you've done with him, so I can do all of it to you. So I can do it better."

Jaia looked at him, fighting the urge to bite her lip as she watched Anakin's darkened eyes scan over her body without any remorse. In any other situation, it would be wildly inappropriate, but Jaia seemed to bask in it for a moment. That is, until she snapped back to her present.
