Edaline's POV
I woke up because of the constant throbbing in my ankle. I sit up and look down at how swollen it is. It's grown twice the size it was yesterday.
I bend over and slightly touch it, sending painful spikes through my leg. I swing my legs to the side of my bed and step down lightly. I may have to limp today. What an inconvenience.
I limp over to my bathroom and look at my reflection. My eye bags are looking worse and my hair looks like a rats nest. I cringe at my reflection and get in the shower.
I brush through my hair and put on a new white button down and my pants and harness. I slip one of my boots on and when I got to my sprained ankle I silently sobbed as the pain skyrocketed as I slid on the boot.
I wipe my eyes and roll my ankle. The pain is, well, painful. I stand up and limp out of my room, closing the door behind me.
I walk down the hallway slowly, easing into the pain and walk into the dining room. I see Eld and I smile. I limp over to him and sit down with a huff.
"Hey sorry about yesterday, I didn't mean to say that, like..... that." I say. He chokes on his eggs and looks over at me, his face is flushed again.
I smile and grab some eggs as well. I begin talking with Eld about random things, I didn't notice the door open or Levi's presence till he was sitting in front of me.
It felt so awkward to be around him now. I straightened my shoulders and look down at my food, my mood dying. I eat my eggs quickly and get up. I grab my plate and walk it to the kitchen to clean it.
I walk back out and notice that both Eld and Levi are looking at me. I turn to walk out of the room and wince at my ankle. I begin to slightly limp, praying that they don't notice.
"Hey, wait." I head a chair scrapping and I turn and watch as Levi walks up to me. "What's wrong with your leg?" He asks demanding an answer.
I stare up at him and open my mouth but nothing comes out. I cough and say, "Nothings wrong." I turn back around when I feel him grab my arm.
The heat from his hand sends shivers down my body and I didn't realize how much I missed him touching me. I turn to look at him and he looks angry. "Edaline, what did you do to your leg?" He asks again, his tone even harder than before.
"I only sprained my ankle it's not that bad." I say shaking off his hand. My arm grows cold and I have to remind myself not to reach out and grab him.
He drops his arm and his face changes to an expression of sadness. It's gone in a second and he's back to angry again. Is that the only emotion he knows?
I walk through the dining hall door and make my way back to my room when my leg gives out. I roll on my ankle and grunt in pain.
I sit down on the floor with my back pressed against the wall. I breathe heavily, trying to forget the pain when I hear footsteps down the hallway. I turn and watch as Levi makes his way to where I'm sitting.
He sighs and puts his hands on his hips. He looks down on me and smirks. "Oh shut up and help me up." I say holding out my hand.
"Tch. I thought your ankle was fine, and now you want help?" He says quirking his head and smirking more.
I sigh and drop my hand, "Then go away if your not going to help." I put my hands on the floor and wall, shimmying up. I place some weight on my ankle and bite my lip.
My leg gives out again and as I am falling I feel Levi wrap his arms around my torso to help me stand up. My momentum pulls him down with me till I'm on my back and he is on me.
