Edaline's POV

I'm on my hands and knees, scrubbing the mess hall floor for the 9th time now I think. This asshole thinks that eight times wasn't enough.

I can feel my kneecaps going numb the longer I'm leaning on them. My arms begin to cramp but I keeps scrubbing, his highness will make me do it again if it's not perfect.

I use the brush and get between every wood plank that's on the floor. I sigh and lean back, I'd don't know how much more my knees can take.

I use my arm sleeve and rub my face, wiping off all my sweat. I decide to call it quits because it has looked like this since we cleaned it the first time.

I push off the ground and grab onto a table, I hoist myself up and stretch. I look around the room and noticed that Levi has left. What's the point of staying if he's gone to?

I lean over and grab the bucket and the broom and mop. I walk outside the dining hall and dump the bucket full of soapy water into the nearest bush. I walk back inside and head to the storage closet. I don't remember where it is but I'm sure I'll find it.

After walking around for 10 minutes I give up and walk to Levi's office to ask him where it is. I knock on the door and I hear his chair slide against the floor. "Um it's-." I say.

I'm cut off when he swings open the door and looks down at me. His eye bags look like they've gotten bigger. I begin to feel flustered at how little distance is between our bodies.

I take a step back and hold out the cleaning supplies. Hoping he understands. He looks down and nods. "It's the third door on the left brat." He replies gruffly.

I nod and walk away, "Hey, did you even finish cleaning everything?" He asks. I nod and continue walking.

I hear a "Tch." Behind me and I know he's disappointed he can't boss me around at cleaning anymore. I hold in a laugh that shakes my body.

I put the stuff away and walk back to my room to relax. I remember someone saying something about a mandatory training walkthrough right before lunch, or something like that, at breakfast.

I lay down on the bed and sigh. It's been a long day already and it's only been like 2 hours. I hear a knock on my door and I groan as I go to get it.

I open the door and Steph's standing there with a smile. I smile too, even though I'm exhausted. "Do you want to walk to the training grounds together?" She asks me.

I nod and close the door behind me walking out. "So, are you going to go to the party tonight?" She asks.

"What party?" I question.

"The one we were all planning before the expedition in 2 days." She replies. I can't believe that they are still planning on doing that.

"I don't know. I just don't-"

She cuts me off. "You have to go!!" She grabs me shoulders and shakes me lightly.

"Okay okay I'll go!" I say shoving her off and smiling.

"Good." She turns and continues walking, a skip in her step. "You should ask someone to go with you. I got asked." I'm surprised. I look at her and smile.

"Sooooooo, who is he?" I question in a high pitch girly voice. She giggles and blushes.

"His name is Emmanuel. He was in the 103rd too, I just never met him before we joined." She says pouting.

"Do you wish you met him 3 years ago?" I ask curious.

"Yes. I would have had a much better time." She says nonchalantly. I'm happy for her. At least her love life is exciting.
