Unbelievable

Edaline's POV

I can hear voices. It sounds like they are arguing. The loud noises are hurting my head. I wince slightly at the noise and force my eyes open.

I shut them right as the bright light hits them. "Listen I'm sorry, I didn't know she'd be hurt." I hear a women say.

"It doesn't matter, she's on my squad and I have the responsibility over this brat. Now I have to look after her." Someone replies.

I slowly begin to open my eyes again and let them adjust to the brightness. I groan and open them all the way. I hear shuffling and look over to see Hanji and Captain Levi staring at me.

"What happened?" I ask. My head is throbbing and my chest is on fire. I breathe slowly, trying to release the ache I feel there. I touch the back of my head, only to feel a bandage.

"Well," Hanji starts, "you sort of got hit by a titan and went flying into a wall. You have 2 broken ribs and a concussion." Oh wow. I remember being hit but that's it.

"Tch. Your such a dumbass. How did you get hit by a titan. Weren't you being careful?" Without even waiting for a response he walks out of the room leaving me speechless. How can he say something like that.

I close my eyes and sigh. I look back up at Hanji and see her heading towards the door too. She turns and smiles, "I'll go talk to him." She says and walks out.

With nothing left to do I look around the room. I'm in the medical room. There are multiple beds but I'm the only one using one. My stomach grumbles and I feel hungry.

I get up from the bed slowly taking deep breathes and I make my way to the door. Everything is dizzy and I feel nauseous but that won't stop me.

I walk out of the room and keep one hand on the wall to my right to balance myself. I walk even slower trying to blink away the fuzzy shapes.

I finally find the mess hall. I straighten my back and walk in, ignoring the nausea. When I open the door I hear the conversations stop and everyone turns to look at me. I ignore them and make my way to the corner where I see and empty table. I sit down and grab a roll. I then begin eating the tasteless soup.

I look up when I hear someone walk over and it's none other than Commander Erwin. I choke on the soup.

"How are you feeling Edaline?" He asks me. Wait does everyone know about me getting hurt? Is that why they all watched me walk in?

I smile lightly, "Yeah I'm honestly feeling fine, just a little dizzy is all." He nods and begins to walk away. I see him head towards the doors. What a nice guy, I think.

I try to remember my past conversations with Erwin till I remember something. "Hey Commander!" I yell after him.

I leave my half eaten meal and run after him, regretting the running part. I caught up with him before he finally notices I called him. He turns and looks at me confused. "Yes, Edaline?"

"Well, you see..... I have a question." I look around and make sure no one is listening before I continue. "It's about how you know my last name. I remember you saying it the first time I met you." I say.

I need to know if he knew my brother or not. No, I have to know.

He sighs and says, "Follow me. Let's not talk here." I follow him out of the door and we walk to his office. He holds the door open for me and I walk inside. It's completely different from Levi's office. Only small details are different though.

Levi's room is spotless and his shelves are covered in books. Commander Erwins shelves are covered in papers and his desk is ginormous.

I smile lightly thinking of Levi. He's such a mean dork.
