Edaline's POV

I pull out my journal and flip to the page where I drew Levi. I study the picture and grow nervous. Erwin said he was going to tell him that I was awake.

Will he come visit me? I trace my finger along the edges of the drawing when I hear someone burst through the door. I snap the book shut and look up to see none other than him.

I feel my cheeks grow hot but the feeling is gone when I can see the expression on his face. He looks like he's ready to kill someone. I smile and wave at him.

How awkward. Say something.

"Morning." I say. I mind face palmed myself for saying something so stupid. I drop my arm feeling embarrassed.

I see him look out the window, "It's night you idiot. And also, you were supposed to clean 5 days ago." He looks back at me with a smirk. I laugh, out loud. A big, berthy laugh.

I wake up after a week long coma and that's the first thing he says to me. "Great. When should I start." I say saluting him from the bed.

I slam my fist on my chest, which was a mistake. I wince slightly at the pain and I can tell he notices.

"Tomorrow morning..... I'll help you." He says. He walks over and sits down in the chair that Commander Erwin was in earlier. "We will be leaving headquarters to go to a separate location after the expedition next week, but I'm debating wether you should go or not."

"You took a big hit from that titan." He continues. I sit up straighter as he says this. There is no way in staying behind.

"I'll be fine. I'm not staying behind, I can help. You saw how good I was. You can't leave me behind." I started sounding desperate. I could feel the failure of being left behind before it actually happened.

"Listen here brat, your injured and you'll only be an inconvenience that I'll have to babysit." He says. His harsh words felt like a knife in my side.

"What if I wont be." I contradict his words, "What if I'll be able to fight and use the gear." I say.

"If you can kill titans with no pain before next week, I'll think about it." He replies.

I breathe a sigh of relief and settle back down. I begin to open my journal again, but stop as I realize he's sitting there. I look over and I see him staring at the journal.

"Tch." He voices and gets up, walking out of the room without saying goodbye.

Gosh, now that he's gone my heart rate has dropped. Does he make me scared, or nervous?

I get up from the bed and grab my journal. If I want to be able to go on the expedition, I have to be ready. Because I've slept for so long, I feel ready to kill some titans and train.

I head to my room and open the door. It is way dirtier than last time. What in the world happened here.

My drawers are open and my clothes are scattered across the floor and on my bed. I don't remember leaving my room this messy before I was hurt. I walk to the bathroom and look at my reflection.

My cheeks flush thinking about how this is what I looked like when Levi visited me. My hair is a mess and my eyes are still adjusting. My face is dirty and there is a bandage around my head.

I can't believe this is what I looked like. I strip my hospital clothes off and hop in the shower, scrubbing my body and hair. I scrubbed gently over he back of my head and watched as the water turned red from the dried blood.

I put on a white button down shirt and my white pants. I wrapped and hooked my leathers straps around my body and slipped on the boots. I looked at my reflection and was pleased.
