Edaline's POV
I sit up, I look around the little valley of flowers Killian and I came across. It was extremely beautiful. All I could see was flowers for miles.
There were tulips, and daffodils, even roses. I stand up and walk to one of the white roses I spotted when we first got here. I squat and smell it.
I pick the flower and decide to take it with me. I'll give it to the captain as an apology. I walk over to where I tied Killian up and I untie him and hop on.
I usually let him do I'm what he wants so he goes at a slow trot back to the headquarters. I was gone for no longer than 2 hours.
I rest the rose on my leg and watch it the whole way back, smiling.
I place Killian in his stable and I give him a good brushing when I take the saddle off. I grab the rose and walk to Levi's office. I arrive at his door and decide to knock, we don't want him yelling at me.
"Name and business." He says from inside.
"Um-Edaline and I uh, I have something for you." I say. My words stumbled out and barley made sense to me, I hope he understood.
"Come in." Is all he says. I slowly open the door and peak my head inside. He's sitting at his desk still writing. I wonder if his hand hurts a lot doing that.
I step through the doorway and close the door, my back to him. I take a deep breath and and turn around. I march right to his desk and lay the flower across the paper he was writing on.
"What is this?" He asks picking it up. He look at me and I can see confusion, as well as anger in his eyes.
"Well um, I wanted to apologize for the way I acted earlier, and I thought that- that was pretty so I decided to give it to you." I say looking at my feet. I could feel my cheeks grow warm and I peak at him through my curtain of hair.
He has a slight rosey look on his cheeks as well. Maybe I embarrassed him. I look down at the papers and notice that his stack has grown larger since I was last here.
"Can I help with that?" I say pointing to the papers. He looks up at me, the pink still in his cheeks.
"Sure." He says. He stands up and walks out of the room. Wait what am I supposed to do?
I look down at the papers and see that he is writing letters to families. I slowly grab one of the papers and recognize it immediately. It's the same one I received when Sebastian died.
I smile sadly. It most be so hard for him to have to do this. I grab half of the stack and a pen and grin, copying the same things he's writing.
I get about 1/10 way through the stack when I hear the door open. I turn around ready to yell at him but he walks in with a vase of water. He places it in his desk and sits down quietly.
I'm shocked, who would've thought that he would have put the rose in a vase, on his desk. I thought he would have just thrown it away as soon as I was gone.
I smile to myself and continue writing. We both work in this silence for a while till he says in a whisper, "Thank you for the rose." I look up and he is covering his face with his hand. I can see pink through the fingers.
I giggle and nod at him. This was a sight I will never forget. I smile as I finish the papers. When I finish hours later I set down the pen and sigh.
I reach my arms up stretching and yawn. I roll my wrist to relieve the tension and look out the window. It's dark outside!? Where did all the time go?
