Sonic POV

19:32

"Look there it is! Come on let's get on line." I said with excitement. Shadow followed with a grimmance as I pulled him along into the crowded line

"I don't like this." Shadow announced, he looked over at me expectantly, as if I would somehow change my mind. "If this causes any negative side effects, I'm taking you back to the workshop, immediately." He said. I shook my head.

"Come-on Shadow, it's a rollercoaster. What's the worst that could happen?"

19:58

We were finally getting seated. Shadow sat next to me in the rollercar. I put on all the straps, Shadow even double checked. I didn't comment on it, I could see he was anxious. I wonder if he doesn't like rollercoasters? Maybe I should have asked beforehand. I guess it's too late now. I reached out and took his hand as the ride began. I flashed him a smile and he seemed to relax a bit.

A few minutes into the ride I noticed a small pain in my lower abdomen. I assumed the belt was starting to bruise me from all the fast jerking motions in the ride. Slowly the pain increased.

The ride was over much faster than I would have liked, but Shadow seemed more than happy it was over. The pain I felt had dulled so I didn't worry much about it. I suggested we go play some games since Shadow didn't exactly enjoy the ride.

The pain was back again but I felt it in my upper chest. This pain made me a bit anxious, this was the same pain I felt last time before I had to be rushed back to Tails. I took a deep breath, disguising it as boredom. Just as I thought I could relax, I heard an explosion, then another soon after. It seems Egghead's back to his old tricks again.

20:16

The pain increased, but I felt it other places as well. I tried to push through the pain and kept up with Shadow as he sprinted to the source of the explosions. The closer I got however the more pain I felt. I had to stop as I began to hear a loud ringing as well. My legs began to shake as the pain spread throughout my body. What's happening?!

20:26

I dodged every missle that came my way, Shadow and I had gotten separated, I'm sure he was doing fine, but this pain was hindering me. I wasn't sure how much longer I could keep up with everything without resorting to going full speed.

20:45

The middles we're no longer being aimed at me, instead they were aimed at bystanders who hadn't been able to escape. I had to start going full speed to help everyone. I could feel my body straining itself, but I couldn't just stand by and watch people get hurt.

20:58

A sharp pain tore through me and immobilized me. I fell onto the ground midrun and skid across the floor, bouncing off the concrete until I rolled to a stop. My vision was blurry, my ears were ringing, and I felt like I needed to throw up.

20:59

I felt something wrap around me and lift me from the ground, I struggled to get out but my vision was being invaded by black dots in until everything was dark.

21:00

The last thing I saw before my vision slipped was Shadow, running towards me. I think he was calling me, but I can't remember.

21:43

I woke up on an operating table. I didn't feel any pain anymore, but I was confused. Where was I?

Eggman's lab.

I paused... I guess that made sense? I didn't question the intrusive thought. I jumped off the lab table but I felt a bit off balance. I looked down at myself and paused. My whole torse had been replaced by a machine, along with one of my arms, which seemed to have my fingers still intact and frankensteined onto the mechanical limb. My other arm was attacked to my now mechanical torse, along with the bottom half of my waist. I decided to explore and look around a bit.

As soon as I left the room, a trap door shut behind me and Eggman's voice was heard through the intercom.

"Well look who decided to finally wake up."

"What's the big deal Egghead? Haven't you learned, no matter what you do, I'll always stop you."

"Bold to assume so you blue rat. Have you seen yourself lately?"

21:05

"I guess it doesn't matter. Why don't we test your new upgrades before we address that shall we?" The intercom went silent, I didn't understand what that was supposed to mean but soon after another trap door opened and I was met with some badniks. Heh, piece of cake.

22:00

I ran through the halls destroying every one of Eggman's robots with ease. I learned that I wasn't very mobian anymore. I recognized the voice of my thoughts to be more of a robot then my own voice.

23:00

I didn't feel tired but as the last door opened, I was facing..  myself??? What???

"Well well, looks like Egghead's trying to make cheap knock offs now." The other me said as he prepared to attack. I'm not a cheap knock off. This must be one of Eggman's clones. This was probably the real reason he was trying to learn how to clone Maria.

"I'm the real Sonic." I said confidently.

23:30

I easily dodged the clone's moves. His way of strategy resembled mine, it made his moves predictable. I didn't want to kill him, if I could just talk with him, we could work together against Eggman.

New objective: terminate the enemy

I pinned the clone to the ground but instead of using my voice, my metal arm began to put pressure around his neck. No, stop. Why can't I stop. Frantic I tried to pulled away, but this resulted in me throwing him across the room. His body left a trail of blood as he slid down the wall and tried to limp away to avoid getting caught by me again. On instinct, my body moved to follow and continue this attack. I tried to stop, but the only thing I could do is stop my organic limb from attacking. Then I heard a deafening crack, the Sonic clone went limp and ceased to breathe. His eyes dulled and he just hung in my hand like a ragdoll. Horrified at what I had done my body trembled. I dropped him and stared at his unmoving body.

Victory is mine.

I wanted this voice to leave my head. Why couldn't I have stopped this? I shivered at the dark feelings that began to consume my mind.

My body went limp as I fell to my knees. I... I'm a monster....

"Looks like you're finally ready for your final upgrades, Metal Sonic." I didn't dare look up at Eggman. How could I have let this happen? I sat there trembling as the fear began to set in. What did he do to me. My vision went black, I was aware of my surroundings but I couldn't see or move anything.

"Don't worry. With you're upgrades, you won't be able to feel the guilt anymore." That was the last thing I remembered before everything went blank.

A/N:

I'm real tempted to just post the last chapter today as well. But idk, I guess it would make the most sense since I officially finished this story yesterday??? Idk, guess we'll see.
