Sunday, October 18
There was no class today, so neither Circe nor Kora had anything to do. Actually, that wasn't entirely true. Kora had homework to do. Freaking high school. According to Taehyun and Myeonghyun, it doesn't get better in college. Meanwhile, Circe was lying on her bed brooding like she usually did. She was also wearing her black jacket, which she didn't normally do inside. Doesn't she have any homework?
"Well, yeah," Circe said. "It's school. I could always do it later."
"What are you brooding about now?" Kora asked, not expecting anything new from the girl who was always either causing chaos or brooding just to look cool.
"I'm just thinking," Circe said, "about this painting of Anne's I saw."
"What painting of Anne's?"
"I went into Anne's room and saw this painting of me wearing a two-colored jacket lying in a pool of my own blood."
"Your own blood?"
"Yeah. She said she was inspired to by a vision about me. She went on about my two separate personalities."
"That's strange."
"I'll say!" Circe clenched her fists. "And something really strange happened on Friday. I had gone back to Anne's room to get another look at the painting when suddenly, I felt something jerk me out of the room. As it turns out, George had gone full demon."
Kora looked up at her. "Full demon?"
"Yep," Circe huffed. "Apparently, Brianna put some dark sore on his forehead that turned him even darker or some shit, but we dealt with it. Anyway, George cast this spell on me, and I felt some awful feeling in my stomach. It was tingly, like something was trying to split me in half, and right at the beginning, I couldn't take it. I actually wanted to be split in two, but Willow was able to snap me out of it since, you know, I'd die."
"I dunno," Kora shrugged. "Anything could happen."
"And I really thought I was going somewhere with introducing George to religion."
Kora stopped what she was doing. "Religion?"
"Yeah." Circe looked back at her. "After your talk last week, I thought that maybe religion would help us steer George towards the light. The problem is Anne probably wouldn't agree with the daimonia. In fact, she didn't agree to the daimonia. Instead, she decided to take him to her Bible study, but he went full demon there, too--"
Kora stood up. "Hold up. You brought that boy close to Christianity?"
"Yeah. Does it matter?"
"It does in fact matter. You can't worship a god that doesn't exist. Now, excuse me while I tell that to Willow." She teleported away.
That Kora. She was just as strict as Taylor. Well, she'd be able to straighten things out, right?
Sunday was laundry day, and on the third Sunday of every month, laundry day meant no sheets on the bed. That made it harder to do homework on my computer with my legs under the covers. I guess this blanket would have to do.
That's when Kora showed up. Out of nowhere. I need to remember that teleportation is a thing that other people can do. She said, "Willow!"
My eyes shot up from my work at looked at her. "Yeah?"
"When I said religion, I didn't mean Christianity."
I closed my laptop. This was going to be a talk. "Well, it wasn't my idea. It was Circe's."
