Part 4

(The following day, Kevin tells Rose that Chris has made an appointment for Faadilah to see the doctor. Faadilah  and Chris will be attending).

(Faadilah  enters the house).

Rose- Hey honey, how are you doing? Dad said that you have a doctor's appointment tomorrow and Chris is taking you. Do you want your father and I to be there as well. We would like to go.

Faadilah- Well, do you guys really want to come? If not, it's okay I understand.

Rose- Of course we do honey we love you and we would like to know what the doctor has to say.

Faadilah- Okay, thanks mom.

(The appointment day has arrived. While driving to the doctor Faadilah keeps shaking because she's scared.

Kevin- Sweetie are you ok? Don't be scared, it's  going to be okay.

Faadilah - No, I am not dad. I am scared because I think that the doctor is going to think that I don't need therapy and that there is nothing wrong with me.

Kevin- No, the doctor won't,  people come to the doctor for many reasons. I am hoping the doctor will refer you to a therapist , that way we can get some answers on what is going on with you.

Faadilah- Okay dad, I trust you.

(The family arrives at the  doctor's office. There are so many people in the waiting area. Vanna the therapist calls Faadilah and her family in).

Vanna- Hello everyone, nice to meet you. My name is Vanna and I will be the doctor seeing you today. Now who is the patient and what seems to be the problem today.

Faadilah-  Well for a while now I have been suffering from depression. I just don;t know why and on top of it all I was always bullied at school so I think that may have made it worse.

Vanna- Okay, that's a start is there anything else that you think may be adding to your depression?

Faadilah- NO!

(Faadilah wants to tell the doctor that her parents have been fighting a lot lately, but can't because they are in the room. The doctor sees that there may be more to the story and writes up a referral to see a therapist the following week)

Vanna- Okay so I am going to refer you to a therapist. Just keep in mind that these therapist sessions are for the patient only, meaning that no one is allowed in the actual therapy session in order to keep it confidential. Is that okay with you guys.

Kevin, Rose, Chris- Oh yes. We understand.

(The following week at Faadilah's  therapist session. Vanna is also the therapist in this script, and is addressed as Ms. Nguyen).

Ms. Nguyen- Hello there. Welcome, you must be Faadilah?

Faadilah- Yes, that's me.

Ms. Nguyen- Well I'm happy you are here. Your family doctor told me a little about what is going on, but before we get to that I'm just going to ask you some questions so that I can get to know you a little better. Is that okay with you?

Faadilah- Yes, that's fine.

Ms. Nguyen- Okay great. So, I heard you just turned 19 and had a splendid birthday party. How was that?

Faadilah- It was great. I had so much fun and it made me so happy, especially when my uncle Chris surprised me with a new car, a Lamborghini.

Ms. Nguyen- Oh wow!! What an amazing gift, expensive but amazing. What does your uncle do for a living?
