Manhattan:
The Avengers patrolled the streets of Manhattan, breathing a sigh of relief at the quiet night. Peter sat perched on a ledge, high above the city.
"Check in." He said
"Still on the south side." Nat sighed.
"North." Clint chimed in.
The others chimed in with their locations and Peter breathed a sigh of relief. He'd been reminding everyone to check in every hour. A way of keeping himself sane.
"Pete, are you sure you're okay?" Nat asked "You seem anxious."
"Not anxious." Peter defending, keeping close to the edge of the building "Just want to know where my team is."
"Uh huh. So you haven't also been texting Happy, Ned and Mj to make sure they're okay? And there's no way Pepper is sitting at the compound with Molly right now?" Tony asked
"Okay fine, I'm a little anxious. But I'm fine."
Clint sighed just as Tony heard a scream.
"Anyone else smell smoke?" Tony asked
"Nope." Clint responded.
"Oh my- Fire on the east side!" He yelled taking off.
"I'm closest!" Peter said "I've got your back."
Sam took off in Tony's direction.
"Parker," Steve warned "Don't you dare run in that building."
Peter watched as Tony flew directly into the flames. He was fine until he heard the crumbling. His eyes widened. He couldn't lose Tony.
"Sorry Steve, I don't take orders well." He said, swinging towards the building.
"Peter!" Bucky yelled
"Peter, your girlfriend is pregnant!" Nat reminded him.
"I swear to god if he makes it out of there alive I'm gonna kill him." Bucky growled
"His girlfriend is what?" Sam yelled into the coms
He sped up, flying directly for the building. The team reached the building just as the supports started to fail.
"Tony! Peter! Get out of there now!" Nat yelled.
"Fuck!" Tony yelled as he flew out with two teens that had been on the top floor.
"There's one more." Peter said, his voice strained "Besides me."
He was holding up the roof. Sam flew in, grabbing the teenage girl and flying out.
"Now get out of there." Steve ordered
Peter yelled, pushing the roof upwards and flinging a web out. He swung as the building collapsed. He felt a sharp blow to the head as he exited the building and everything went black.
Wanda thought Peter looked a little weak as he swung from the building. Her eyes seemed to glaze for a second as she remember the way Pietro fell. When she snapped back, Peter's hands were slipping from the web.
"Peter!" She screamed
Tony's head snapped up. He saw Peter's unconscious body falling through the air.
"Pete!" He screamed
He flew up, catching him and landing on the ground. He kneeled, laying the younger man's body on the pavement.
"Get those kids out of here!" He yelled to the police.
Three officers grabbed the kids taking them away. The others, all younger except for one, created a circle around the avengers, turning their backs.
