Avengers Compound:

Molly stirred slightly but didn't wake. Peter watched as the monitor she's was attached to beeped, slowly at first then rapidly before slowing down to an even pace.  It did this periodically throughout the day and into the night.

"Think she'll be okay?" Bucky asked quietly outside the room.

"I don't know.  She shows signs of wanting to wake but it's almost as though she can't." Bruce replied

"What about Loki?" Thor asked

"He has a mild concussion. Other than that he's being dramatic."

Thor chuckled.

"Thor," Steve said "When we were on Jotunheim, something happened to Molly. Her hair, it turned black like it is now and this black smoke filled the room."

Thor nodded.

"You saw the fenris wolves didn't you?" He asked

"I guess. What was that?"

"It would appear that Molly has inherited powers. Specifically her aunt Hela's powers." He explained "She can call up the fenris. Perhaps even the midgard serpent."

Steve nodded. Pretending to understand.

Peter leaned forward and held Molly's hand. Her heart started beating rapidly again. It didn't slow down again.

  "Mister Stark!" Peter yelled "Cap!"

The two men came running. Tony checked her vitals and temperature.

"She's not in serious distress." Tony said "Just a rapid heartbeat."

"Maybe she's dreaming?" Steve suggested.

Peter groaned.

"I just wish she'd wake up." He said

Tony rubbed his back gently.

"She'll be okay, kid." Tony said quietly.

Peter sighed and laid his head down on the side of the bed. He held her hand once again.

"You know what I miss?" He said to the sleeping girl "Chocolate chip muffins and iced mochas. I miss coming into the bakery and seeing you covered in flour cause God knows you can't bake without making a huge mess."

He chuckled

"I miss hearing you laugh at Tony and Steve arguing about dumb stuff. I miss hearing you laugh at all."

She stirred a little, gripping his hand. He lifted his head, smiling slightly as her eyes fluttered open.

  "Hey." He said quietly.

She tried to sit up.

"No no, don't sit up." He said, putting a hand behind her back.

She leaned back.

  "Water." She said quietly.

He grabbed the water bottle from his bag and handed it to her.

"Friday, tell mister Stark Molly is awake."

"Yes Mister Parker." An electronic voice said

The sound of crutches clicking on the floor caught Peter's attention. He turned to see Loki in the doorway.

"Hey." Molly said "Are you okay?"

Loki nodded.

"I'll just-i'm gonna go get yoghurt." Peter said awkwardly

He stood and left.

"You called me dad." Loki said with a cocky smile.

   "Well you are my dad."

Loki chuckled, walking over to her bed.

"I heard Peter hasn't left your side since we got back." He said

"Really?" She asked, a glimmer of hope in her tired eyes.

She'd slept for a week yet felt more tired than ever. She rested her head on the pillow and smiled sleepily up at Loki.

"Sleep love." He whispered, kissing her forehead. "I'll be here when you wake up."
