She leaned against the counter watching out the window. He hadn't come in today. None of them had. Her eyes shot to the clock and back to the window. Were they okay? Had they all been in a freak accident? Did they know each other? Did someone die?

Her regulars were late. Even her favorite regular. A handsome college boy with fluffy brown hair and beautiful amber eyes. He always ordered the same thing every day. A black a coffee with about a quart of sugar, an iced mocha and eight chocolate chip muffins.

"A hot chocolate with peppermint please." Said a smooth English voice "and no marshmallow, wouldn't want to look ridiculous would I love?"

She turned around and caught sight of a tall dark haired man in a black suit.

  "Right away, sir." She said.

She made the hot cocoa and walked over to the counter.

"You haven't come in before." She said quietly, pouring in the peppermint flavoring.

"Oh?" Said the man, raising an eyebrow "and you know all of your customers?"

She smiled.

"Not by name but I do know them." She said with a nod

She glanced out the window once more before returning her attention to him.

"Can I know your name?" She asked

  "Loki." He said quietly

"Like the norse god." She stated

"Exactly."

"Arent you supposed to be like...a bad guy."

He chuckled.

"It varies from moment to moment."

She smiled.

"On a scale from one to ten how close are you to a murderous rampage?"

"About a three."

She laughed.

"Let me know when it gets to a six."

He laughed joyously.

"I like you. Do you have a name or should I just call you love?"

"Molly."

"An Irish name. Lovely."

"Thank you."

   "You work here every day?"

She nodded.

"Has a boy ever come in here? Tall, brown hair. Skiddish?"

She perked up.

"You mean muffin boy." She said a small smile creeping onto her face. "Yeah he comes in every day. Two coffees and eight muffins. Hasn't been in today though."

"Muffin boy?" He laughed

His smile was infectious. Sun-like.

"His name is Peter." He continued "A friend of my brother's."

The clock on the wall hit noon and Loki moved towards the door.

"It was nice to meet you." He said "Molly."
