When Charlie arrived at the Burrow, Natasha was quick to jump into his arms, giggling like a child as he swung her around. "Favourite Child!" he cried once she had been set back on her feet.
"Favourite Weasley!" she cried back, earning some looks from Percy, Bill, the twins and Ron, who all adored the girl way too much. Charlie ruffled her hair and slung his arm over her shoulder, asking about how things were as they walked a short distance to the kitchen.
"I thought I was your favourite Tasha?" Bill said, pouting and she grinned, wrapping her arms around him.
"You're my favourite curse-breaking Weasley, just like how Percy is my favourite prefect Weasley, and Ron is my favourite brother Weasley," she explained. The twin's both faked shock, their hands placed over their hearts as they dramatically dropped to the floor.
"Freddie did you hear that? I think I can hear the bells of heaven," George whispered, the sight quite amusing for the rest of the people in the kitchen.
"No Georgie, I only see a bright light, oh and there's my life flashing before my eyes. Oh, I see Natasha, and the time I hexed Blondie," he cried, before they both stuck their tongues out, closing their eyes.
"Thank Godric," Natasha muttered, causing the two to sit up.
"Thank Godric?!"
"We die and you thank Godric?!"
The two scrambled to their feet as Natasha ran, narrowly missing Arthur and Harry as they came through the fireplace. "Hi Arthur, hi Harry. Bye Arthur, bye Harry!" she yelled, heading straight towards the yard, where the gnomes were.
Her mother had taught her a trick when she was younger, on how to avoid gnomes, and Natasha was thankful as she dodged the ghastly creatures, standing behind them all. Fred and George were still running, though they came to a halt as they saw the field of sleeping gnomes, and their best friend standing behind them all.
"How-" Fred started, but he was stopped by a rock hitting him. He looked down to see a gnome throwing rocks at him, as well as George, whilst Natasha danced like a leprechaun behind them.
Charlie, Bill and Ron, who had been slightly more prepared, had all grabbed brooms, flying above the scene as the twins were attacked by gnomes. Charlie landed right by Natasha's side and they sat together on the grass, enjoying the entertainment provided by the gnomes.
"So, any boys I need to hex?" he asked, and immediately Natasha's face flushed, not going unseen by Charlie.
"N-no Charlie, we always agreed I'd be a lonely old witch surrounded by owls forever," she stammered, causing Charlie to chuckle. He could already tell it was Fred by the way her eyes unconsciously flicked to him every now and then to make sure he was okay, plus, they had all put bets down years ago, so he was silently hoping he was right.
"Well, Natasha, you'd be okay with Freddie getting in with one of your friends, right? I'm pretty sure they were talking about some chick called Lauren or Angelina," he teased, but instead of the reaction he was hoping for, Natasha's face paled.
"He likes Angelina?" she asked quietly, picking at the grass. Instantly his heart crushed, seeing Natasha get quiet, and he pulled her into a hug, rubbing her back.
"I was kidding, oh Nat don't cry," he apologised as a few tears slipped from her eyes. The twins noticed from the other side of the field, and Fred's face turned dark. He ran towards the broom cupboard and quickly hopped on one, flying towards Natasha and Charlie.
"Charlie, I swear to Godric it's like you can't shut your damn trap! What did you say to her!" he jumped off of the broom and pulled Natasha up and into a hug. She was numb as Fred hugged her, and even though Charlie had insisted it was a joke, a little voice in the back of her head said it was lies.
"It was just a joke Fred! All I said was that you were talking about Angelina and Lauren, and she broke down!" Fred froze.
Could Natasha possibly like him back? Is that why she started to cry?
He wiped the remaining tears from Natasha's eyes, pressing a kiss to her forehead, earning gasps from the onlookers of the Burrow, both inside and out. "Hey, Tasha, open your eyes for me," he whispered, his hands cupping Natasha's face.
Her eyes slowly opened, revealing her blue eyes, which looked like the trail of a Patronus charm from the tears. She sniffed and smiled weakly at Fred, who smiled softly in return.
"Do I look weird now?" she asked.
"Of course, you do Tasha. We both look weird right now," Fred said, his mischievous glint back in his eye. She elbowed his side and he elbowed hers back, the tears and teenage heartache long gone.
"I have to ask though, did what Charlie say really bother you that much?" he asked, and Natasha nodded, looking down at her feet.
"Oh, Godric this is not how I wanted you to find out," she mumbled, but Fred lifted her chin with his finger, looking directly into her eyes. She could see the people gathered around them but paid no attention as she looked into the eyes of Fred.
"Don't look down love. I can't kiss you from down there." And with that, he swooped in, pressing a gentle kiss to Natasha's lips, sealing the bond they had felt their whole lives. Hermione and Ginny squealed as Bill and Ron grumbled at Harry, George and Charlie, placing money into their hands.
They really did all bet on Fred and Natasha.
